Here is an architecturally built house from the early 1970's which was brought into the new century during this complete home remodel by opening up the main living space with two small additions off the back of the house creating a seamless exterior wall, dropping the floor to one level throughout, exposing the post an beam supports, creating main level on-suite, den/office space, refurbishing the existing powder room, adding a butlers pantry, creating an over sized kitchen with 17' island, refurbishing the existing bedrooms and creating a new master bedroom floor plan with walk in closet, adding an upstairs bonus room off an existing porch, remodeling the existing guest bathroom, and creating an in-law suite out of the existing workshop and garden tool room.

The guest bath design was inspired by the fun geometric pattern of the custom window shade fabric. A mid century modern vanity and wall sconces further repeat the mid century design. Because space was limited, the designer incorporated a metal wall ladder to hold towels.

Wanting the home’s guest bathroom to feel inviting and whimsical, we dove it to create a unique balance of saturated colors and lively patterns. Playing with geometric and organic patterns- from the simple tile grid to the nature inspired wallpaper, and slapdash terrazzo flooring- this space strikes a bold kinship of forms.

APD was hired to update the primary bathroom and laundry room of this ranch style family home. Included was a request to add a powder bathroom where one previously did not exist to help ease the chaos for the young family. The design team took a little space here and a little space there, coming up with a reconfigured layout including an enlarged primary bathroom with large walk-in shower, a jewel box powder bath, and a refreshed laundry room including a dog bath for the family’s four legged member!

We transformed this hall bath into a beautiful space anyone would want to use. We used classic colors and patterns to last and a fun black metal vanity because we could.

Client's dream of having a gorgeous, relaxing bathroom with lots of light and natural elements while being low maintenance and within her budget were the requirements. We relocated the shower to the opposite side of the vanity with a sleek shower surround. The existing skylight is free to flood the space with natural light.
