PV James renovated our period home before we moved in. The experience was made very easy with clear objectives from the outset and great advice on the various options which arose and the finer details. The work was carried out during a very difficult time in terms of working conditions and obtaining materials and Pelham and the team did everything they could to meet our objectives in a reasonable time in very difficult circumstances due to the pandemic. We couldn't be in better hands and communication was good. The team were polite, hard working, professional and helpful at all times, my neighbours were complimentary of the team also. The method of schedule invoicing they use means you only pay for work carried out to your satisfaction which gives great confidence. We are very happy with the quality of the work and their professionalism. We would not hesitate to recommend this company or use them again.

We used the PV James team for the building of our house. We were impressed with the detailed quote, which allowed us to consider and decide on different options. They provided good guidance on materials, finishes, and additional touches. They also gave us a detailed plan with a week-by-week breakdown of the build, and despite us requesting some changes, Pelham and the team remained on track. The place was always kept clean and secure despite major changes going on. The project was completed ahead of schedule and costs only increased because we requested some additions. Highly reliable and recommended!

This company destroyed our home renovation in Buckinghamshire with total incompetence and lack of due care. Everything was in place for a straightforward overhaul of an old house which was unnoccupied and as the owners we were always ready to support and source what they needed. There were clear architect plans who were retained for the project so were on hand to support, yet PV James lost control of the work and left us with a complete botch job. The owner Pelham Vincent is completely out of his depth and more interested in his failing side projects than the building work he has on the go, which was clearly too many renovation jobs at once. Most of the people he sent were lacking in basic manners, skills and often hungover from the night before, or even still drunk! This took place in 2016/17 and it’s only because we have been fixing the problems they left and weighing up legal action against them that we have not been able to warn people off them before. Regrettably we had to accept legal action will be more trouble than it’s worth and we have already had three years of heartache and disappointment due to PV James. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!!!.

I instructed PV James for some extensive basement work. I was delighted with the professionalism and the quality of all works carried out. Pelham assured me that he would return for any further issues free of cost and as I was out of the country, he revisited on a few occasions to check all was satisfactory. I received detailed photographs and descriptions of the progress via wattsapp. I would highly recommend without hesitation.

Pelham's team carried out the installation of a new kitchen and bathroom for us. They were competitive on price and assured us the work could be completed in 8 weeks as it was a small job. The stand of work overall was good and the guys were always pleasant and flexible if our requirements changed. We paid a little over the quote as there were some small changes and it can be difficult to know exactly what the quote covers. One issue was the timing as this went over time by a couple of weeks at least and we had to hold on to the final payment to ensure the work was finished. Around 6 months later we found a number of cracks in the tiles in the bathroom. This could be down to the qualtiy of the tiles or construction but we can't be sure. We contacted Pelham to ask him to check under the warranty, but received no response.

We used PV James Construction through a recommendation from our Architects and we were not disappointed. We had significant work carried out on the ground floor of our house and from quote to completion was exceptional. All work was carried out to a very high standard. Dave our site manager was excellent, nothing was too much and he made life bearable with his flexible approach. The PV James team were all very professional, friendly and great to have around for 19 weeks! We will have no hesitation in commissioning PV James for our upstairs renovations next year. We are extremely pleased with the end result and would highly recommend Dave and all his team.

PV James did a very big refurb project for us. We had never used them before but they were very confident with time-scales, quality etc when we met up with them. They did the job for us in less than half the time quoted by other companies without any of the quality of work being compromised. If anything, their work is of a very high quality. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. We have already given them another project to do for us and will use them for any future ones.

I've hired Pel for various small household and decoration jobs, now. Having him bring in the various trades required really takes the stress out of the process. This time, I needed some small works done to our downstairs cloakroom, including replacement and proper venting of the extractor fan, refurbishment of a window and some boxing in of ugly pipes. This specification was arrived at with help from Pel's honest assessment of our needs; he could have specified a more expensive job but is always honest about the different options and what will work best for us. The quote provided for this job was competitive and the work, when completed, was to a good standard. It took a little while and a couple of chases from giving the nod to the works taking place, which is a reassuring sign that Pel's services are in demand, but did mean we had to wait a while. The three chaps Pel sent were all friendly and helpful, meticulously checking my requirements and keeping me informed about what they were doing. They also made a good effort to tidy up as they went along. The finish was of a good quality and am pleased with the outcome. I'm very happy to recommend Pel's company.

Vincent Pelham runs a very tight, professional team of young, talented, motivated and skilled construction individuals. From the first meeting to completion of the work in our house and garden, we genuinely enjoyed the consultations, the ideas and the open communication with the team. When challenges arose (as they always will in slightly older properties) we were able to depend on Pel and his partner David to come up with solid solutions. The work that they did to transform a) bedroom b) kitchen c) creation of a new utility room d) construction of a garden cabin included all pplanning, design, construction and build. They provided a complete service as well as strict project management of costs to come in exactly on budget They always arrived early and delivered what they promised. On a personal note, I was so impressed by the passion and dedication that they put into the work and would thoroughly recommend them. The team of guys did a great job building my extension recently. More than helpful and the guys had a great attitude on site. The quote was not the cheapest but we defiantly got the professional service we wanted. Would highly recommend.
