Structuring of the cast stone treads and risers, why?

Splendid mouldings coffered threshold and reversed cornices; wonder about wood flooring upstairs and traffic noise it might cause

Stone balustrade columns and finials, curious about treads and risers

Again we see here that the floorboards flanking the treads are raised so that the iron spindles don’t sit on each of the treads but on the floorboard rail. Also in this pic the banister is iron and not wooden, still elegant.

Should we consider a darker stone for the tread on the stairs?

Lots of swirl to the posts, but nice

Note only how busy an entire visual space can be with excess movement in scrolled posts. Beautiful design and seemingly beautifully executed, but such a visual jewel as that pattern/movement gives texture to a space that would compete w any real decor. What then is left to do w the space?

Pretty flooring and unique mounting brackets on rails!

Stone stairway flooring, would prefer wooden rail and love the visible balcony, as I have in foyer as well

Love the intermittent scroll design

Love the calm aesthetic and the use of stone, metal, wood on the staircase

The use of the wooden banister rail with the metal posts, the way the posts have intermittent decoration, and although I’ve not considered a runner, this one seems alright but base. I like the checkered flooring, but I prefer a subtle demure over a statement type vibe upon entry.
