Wood for Walls suitable for fire places??

I want to do a wooden feature wall to fix the TV and a gas fire place to it. I need a type of wood that won't get damaged by the heat!

Yes you can apply wood walls to certain products that are designed to have air cooled walls and fireplace heat redirection. You will have to maintain a 8" clearance of non combustible to the sides and above the fireplace. Thanks
