kitchen splashback advice sought please!

Hello! I am putting in a new kitchen - white shaker cupboards, warm coloured timber floor, but i can't decide on the splashback. I was considering white subway tile but both glass and mirror (?) splashbacks have been recommended to me. We don't have an amazing view etc to reflect - but am told that mirror will reflect a lot of light. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

If you get wonderful hand made gloss tiles, either subway style or any other style they will also reflect the light.
Mirrored or glass splash backs do not, in my opinion, add any style or texture to a space.

It may be a matter of Style, If you are using Shaker Doors and your kitchen is more in the traditional Federation (Hampton) style then Subway tiles will work well. On the other hand if you are using the Shaker with a more modern feel in a Transitional Style then yes Glass or Smoked Mirror will work (as well as provide you with a smart looking, easy to clean splashback.

    Hope this helps, Malcolm
