Hip Roof Design

We are considering a similar addition with a hip roof. We are in an area that receives quite a bit of snow. How do you keep water and snow from gathering in the valley between the addition with the hip roof and the house? Thank you.

    I understand your concern but not sure I can help. Obviously keep the connecting roof as steep as possible, with peel and stick underlayment, and make sure your attic is properly air sealed to prevent ice dams. Good luck.
