It depends on the aesthetic you are going for but my recommendation for a master bedroom is usually a really subtle sheer curtain for daytime privacy, still allowing light to flow into the room, paired with either blackout curtains (heavier fabric) or blackout-lined shades for nighttime. Keep it simple, neutral colors and simple or no patterns. You want the room to feel relaxing.
