What material are the bookshelves and mirror trim made from?

What are the shelving and mirror frames above the tub made from? Do they need to be made from water proof materials? I want to do something very similar in my master bath remodel but have been worrying about what materials to use to protect from water. You did a gorgeous job!

Hello Aznort, thanks for the compliment! The mirror trim and shelving is all made from solid wood that has been primed on all sides before installation. Quality paint will cure and provide enough protection from steam moisture in those locations. Solid wood is fine to use, but stay away from MDF, it breaks down in damp conditions.
