What color should I paint front door?
We have a large and traditional house painted a chocolate brown with white trim. I'd like to paint the front door and need advice. It is under a large porch covering so is shadowed, and is surrounded by white trim.
I'm considering a shade of black if I could figure out the right shade, but open to other color ideas too. I plan to paint over the existing white detail on the door.

4年前I just change the hues and darkness, so sometimes your inset trim is a little funny, but ignore that for the overall effect...
I think my favorites are the orange and the turquoise, but really any bright color will help make the covered entry more welcoming.

4年前Matters if you would like your door to stand out or not.
If you need something more standard, this is a great color choice
If you looking for a pop of color, or to stand out in your neighborhood you can go pink!
Standard White is also a great job.

4年前You could just pick a favorite color. Any bright one would go. I would paint the door all the same color, but keep the side lights white. I like orange. It is not common. Pink and blue are good too.

4年前A dark color like black, dark brown, navy blue would make the door frame stand out. But a nice right red or yellow color door will also make your house pop!

4年前Nice house.
Like the front door as is, however, is that siding brown ... if so, a deep dark bold burgundy red would work well with it or a brown that's lighter than the siding but with a reddish hue.
Yellow or orange make me think of highway warning signs -- but that's just me. It's your door and you should make it one of your favorite colors -- a color that makes you smile as you approach it.
