design dilemma in living room

the living room was divided into two areas and wooden rafters were planned in between as a small divider continuing from the ceiling.however due to technical issues the design was changed and wall rafters were scrapped but ceiling ones were retained.pl suggest what to place on the dividing area which has trims on sides and AC on top.Cant hang anything as there are AC pipes on wall

    There are different options :

    1) Place a small sidetable with acceesories on it

    2) you may do some sort of stenciling work on it to create a pattern to fill the gap

    3) you may place a floor mounted vertical bookcase or curio cabinet , not too high

    4) you may deviate the attention from that area by hanging an interesting painting on the blue wall, that ways you can balance both the TV area and the living area and the gap can remain empty

    Hope this helps

Hi Reena, You can put see through mdf partition (8' x 4') with a small 3 feet cupboard attached lower side with lesser depth in the center of the divider area. Or else put two see through partitions (7' x 4' each) below from Ac with a gap of 3 feet. Keep posted whatever you would be doing.

If nails are stopping you from your desired application you can go with 3M command hooks.

    Thanks,

Why not! if you are cautious enough . There are around 50 odd type of command hooks with different purposes. If you know exactly what purpose you need and ideal one then online shopping should be good.

If wall is weak to hold the nails then you may go for hanging partitions from ceiling, Or else floor to ceiling partitions with big gaps from bottom n top.

    Hi reena,

You could go for a macrame hanging partition as the attached images for reference....

A typical partition or anything on the floor may make the space look constrained. I'd suggest you just use a different finish of flooring to partition the space...for e.g. you can have wooden flooring installed on top of the tiles in the area where the sofa is kept - to the human eye this will both partition the space as well as maintain the spaciousness.

Your existing room decor is subtle and stylish. Adding a plant or a sculpture on a pedestal might help fill up the space and blend with the decor well.
