I’d like to bring this wooden beam back to life but don’t really know where to get started. It feels like the previous owner has tried to sand it as it’s very smooth.
give it a distressed 'white' paint effect. eg add texture with some wood & grain for character. no need to pick it out and try an restore the bare wood. here's one we did in our own home
