Tall vanity? Is it worth it?

Does anyone have a taller than normal vanity in their bathroom? Are you glad you did it? Good for resale? My condo bathroom is very tiny and I think it will give extra storage and just be more comfortable.

I'm not very tall, 5'4", but still feel more comfortable with a 36" vanity.

It will probably be more comfortable, but does not give much extra storage. Some companies make an in between height of 34".

I just stayed at a hotel with a tall vanity, and I loved it. It was unusable for my preschooler, though…which turned out to be a plus. :)

Storage space is what you make of it. For low cabinets, especially deep ones, pull out drawers/ shelves make a huge difference. One big open cavity will be incredibly inefficient. One of my favorite stores is the Container Store… They have lots of different solutions which I would consider if storage is an issue.

Oops! Just measured mine, it is 34"! I knew it was higher than the one I replaced. :) But, like I said, I'm only 5'4", and it would still be good for me if it were a little higher, so for taller people it would probably be better too. Same thing for kitchen countertops, higher = less back strain.

We just built our house, and we put in 36 inch vanities in all the bathrooms. Our kids are teens now, so the height wasn't a problem. If we had younger kids, I still would have done it, although we would incorporate some kind of pull out step stools (which I have seen incorporated in some kitchens).

definitely worth it. Nicer to use and a bit more storage.
