glass roof sun room

I love this roof and I'm looking for something exactly like this for my sun room. it faces west so is searingly hot in summer. what level of insulation does the roof cover provide? also I have large gum trees near by. would the leaves cause problems retracting the shade? and could small branches (2m long 2cm dia.) tear the shade?
I'm in the Perth area and I am really keen to learn more about this solution.

    Hi Marie

This glass pergola faces east but western sun is often low and very hot as you know. So you need vertical shade as much as horizontal shade. take a look at a newer product called Danpalon it is cost efficient, has a tint or can be frosted. I would then grow deciduous vines or battens under it to give you shade in summer and then have some vertical glare blinds or vergola type louvres running to the ground to block the wind and afternoon sun.
