The Cypree is indeed beautiful, and relatively simple to service. The process involves a little measuring and some adjusting of a stopper for the pendant glass.
First, remove the lamp from the socket and raise the pendant glass high enough to reach the stopper attached to the cord. Now measure the distance between the socket and the stopper and write it down. Wrap the lamp socket in a facial tissue to prevent scratching the pendant glass.
Loosen the stopper set screw with a 1/8" Allen wrench and slide it all the way down to the socket. Now the glass shade can slide down all the way to the socket allowing access to the interior of the pendant glass for cleaning.
Reverse the process to return the pendant to use, making sure to confirm the measurement between socket and stopper. Be sure not to over-tighten the set screw in the stopper.
