should I match hardwood floors on two floors

Hi everyone, my first floor already has hardwood floors (builder grade 2.25" red oak). It is in decent shape and can be refinished.

My second floor currently is old carpet. I want to change the old carpet out for hardwood floors. Do you think I should get matching hardwood, or would the separation by the stairs be ok to get something else that would not necessarily match the first floor?

I would love to do something with wider planks, and maybe in white oak or maple.

What are your thoughts on this? does it look bad to have different flooring?

Having two separate floors does not requires having a matching flooring, a lot of people choose different floors for upstairs nothing wrong with it.
