Eric, you will want to make sure with a local licensed electrician that their is a Manual Transfer switch in place and you are not just back feeding the panel which is illegal and if done incorrectly can be very dangerous. The unit is designed to run extension cords from the unit to your appliances but if you speak with an electrician you can safely accomplish what you are looking to do.
