I can't tell by looking at it if it is a natural stone or porcelain. Either would make sense. If you are on more of a budget, I would look into the porcelain. But, if you were planning a splurge, natural stone is the way to go. They are both lovely!! We carry a few tiles from Surface Art you should take a look at.
idea from ecoman1: "PW0018WE Scraped Wood Porcelain Tile, White Oak. The time came from www.tiledaily.com."
Thanks! Do I need to look for a specific kind of porcelain that would work for outdoor applications?
You need to make sure that the balcony you have can support tile and drain properly. If it doesn't drain properly the house will suffer. And, yes, you need tile rated for wet areas.
Not only rated for wet areas, but frost resistant, depending on your climate: https://www.tcnatile.com/faqs/36-frost-resistance.html
The product in your picture is a porcelain tile, I see pattern repeats. Looks similar a Dal Tile product, LP19 Linden Point.

Any porcelain tile that has a fire glazed finish will work for your application.
