Hellobigj60 : A pocket door will need wall space a little more than double it's width to accommodate the open door; i.e., a 30-inch door will need at least 60 inches of wall space -- 30 inches for the actual door, and another 30+ inches in which to store the door in open mode. The wall that houses the track needs to be totally accessible on one side for construction. Also, please note that the "pocket" will be unable to accommodate any electrical as the depth is being used for the door.
