Hi I have just purchase this house

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-41905950.html

i have no experience in interior design and I am really struggling!! First off we are trying to plan the living room. We are keeping the wallpaper, floor and curtains as they are. We have ordered this sofa http://www.dfs.co.uk/shannon/right-hand-facing-3-seater-pillow-back-corner-sofa-talia-100920151p--1

I need to find a TV unit, coffee table and a child's toy storage unit at the right hand side as well as a nice rug but I am struggling to pick what colours to look for!! Any help would be really appreciated!! Also I have bought a white and pine table for kitchen, and a black bed for one of the bedrooms but I haven't got any further than that yet!!

Congratulations on your purchase its a really nice property, particularly like your living room and garden! I am sure you will find plenty of great suggestions on here shortly. The wallpaper in the living room though is very nice so for rug I'd go for something that is light to match the flowers in your wallpaper and give the room a light feel as I wouldnt go for a dark rug with your sofa you have ordered. Maybe something like this one perhaps:

This one is from John Lewis http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-sublime-shaggy-rug/p1661594?colour=Oyster#media-overlay_show

Also another thing you could think of looking at would be adding some lighting options, maybe a floor lamp and matching table lamp? If you need any help with this side of things then feel free to let us know info@thebulbco.com or give us a call on 0161 737 7333. In the meantime looking forward to see what kind of advice you will get and what you decide on :-)

Hi, thank you so much for your reply and help. I really like the rug you suggested and a loor lamp and matching table lamp sounds lovely. Where abouts would you suggest putting them and do you have any that would look nice with my design?

Hi Suzie, glad you like the suggestions, its always difficult to try and suggest things as you never know what someone else is going to like! I'd suggest putting a floor lamp in the corner of your room to provide some light and if you have space for it you could have 2 matching ones in either corner. There is a range we do called Boyer and there is a full matching range comprising of wall lights, table lamps, floor lamps and a ceiling light too if you wanted everything to match :-) I've included the link to these below along with a couple of images. They do these in both chrome and antique brass options. If you are not keen on these we do have other options available on our website too www.thebulbco.com but let me know if you need any help and I'll be happy to assist :-)
