bed cuts across the window

interesting idea to cut the bed / loft across the window. doesn't look like you had much choice with the room layout. can you talk about the decision to lose part of the window? is there a separate curtain for where the bed is next to the window?

it looks like the desk portion blocks off the bottom 1/4 of the window as well.

i may have to block part of a window with my kid's room as well.

I decided it was ok to block part of the window since there were two windows and adequate lighting in the room. The window blinds could still easily operate and the curtains could be pulled from left to right to close but stacks on the left. The child enjoyed being able to look out while working at the desk. It worked out great!

Do you recall the dimensions of the room? And is this a full size loft bed?
