    No, you just need to use a rounded corner bead to finish the corners rather than an L-shaped corner bead.

    Thank you Wendi for your quick response. I failed to ask the question clearly. I am wanting to return the drywall to the door jamb and not use casing. Like the picture of the kitchen door to the right of the counter in the Provence Style Laguna Beach home. I tried to attach my sketch I'm but not sure this email platform works that way. Does that make sense? Can I email you with my sketch?

    Jim, there is not a sketch included, but you can email it to me at info@wendiyoung.com. The detail you are referring to is called a kerf detail, where the corner bead is applied to the drywall on the face of the wall and then returns back to the wood jamb at the door or window.
