Hello Karen, Thank you for your questions! we installed a total of 9 posts in this kitchen project, sizes of base (width) ranged between 5"-7", height of the post (overall height) ranged between 34 1/2", 37 1/2" and 39" high. These items are constructed from solid Cherry. The main island post were notched fit nicely in to the 90 degree or 45 degree corners of the island, which added a floating look to the posts...
