Re-doing kids room

Hi,

I'm going to be redoing my kids room. My daughter (4) and son (6) share a room, so it needs to be be suitable for both and I want it to be quite funky design. At least for another 4-5 years before they get their separate rooms. Main colours I'd like to use are dark blue and rustic orange. No specific girl/boys stuff on the wall - like princesses, cars, flowers, planes etc. Do you have any ideas - pictures of these colour combos, any other colour what would go well? Any good design elements? Thank you.

get rid of toys and other small set of drawers
Paint built in closet, drawers white.
Paint walls like second pix i posted.
Get new beds - ensemble singles
get new duvet set like first pix i posted.
    wall stickers...fourth pix i posted.
throw and floor rug....third pic i posted..

I love the first one too! I recently painted a dark blue ceiling with stars for a night sky. Something simple like this would not compete with a nice plaid or patterned bed cover. Also please check out my Houzz site for ideas on murals.
