I'd add led strp lights under each shelf to make them pop.

As designers we spend a lot of time listening to our clients to custom design their spaces for the functional and aesthetics needs. This client wanted a very casual beachy look. We instructed the cabinetmaker to stain the cabinet to look like driftwood.
Lighting this cabinet would have taken away the casual yet elegant look .

What tyoe of wood is this? Riffed walnut or white oak? It's so nice!

The dominate light(recessed cans) being the largest light source would seem to be rather harsh. The indirect would be kinder.
I'd start with cypress and add layers of gray semi transparent stain get this effect.

I would guess this is rift cut white oak.
