Thanks very much. The floor is made from staffordshire blue brindles. They are brick slips - cut down from full bricks. Yes the floor as underfloor heating under it.
Does this cupboard have the litter tray in it? I'm looking for a good way to hide a litter tray. Slightly disappointed that the rest of the article wasn't about clever cat related adaptations. My cats match the carpet to cut down on vacuuming!
Kath3388, it is my guess that this is a solution for cat flap installation that prevents the need for ruining the glass door. The cat enters the flap through exterior brick and enters the kitchen via the cupboard. Great idea if you can spare the cupboard space.
