This 1970's home had a complete makeover! The goal of the project was to 1) open up the main floor living and gathering spaces and 2) create a more beautiful and functional kitchen. We took out the dividing wall between the front living room and the kitchen and dining room to create one large gathering space, perfect for a young family and for entertaining friends! Onto the exciting part - the kitchen! The existing kitchen was U-Shaped with not much room to have more than 1 person working at a time. We kept the appliances in the same locations, but really expanded the amount of workspace and cabinet storage by taking out the peninsula and adding a large island. The cabinetry, from Holiday Kitchens, is a blue-gray color on the lowers and classic white on the uppers. The countertops are walnut butcherblock on the perimeter and a marble looking quartz on the island. The backsplash, one of our favorites, is a diamond shaped mosaic in a rhombus pattern, which adds just the right amount of texture without overpowering all the gorgeous details of the cabinets and countertops. The hardware is a champagne bronze - one thing we love to do is mix and match our metals! The faucet is from Kohler and is in Matte Black, the sink is from Blanco and is white. The flooring is a luxury vinyl plank with a warm wood tone - which helps bring all the elements of the kitchen together we think! Overall - this is one of our favorite kitchens to date - so many beautiful details on their own, but put together create this gorgeous kitchen!

This client had a load bearing wall that she wanted to remove in the center of her kitchen. We opened up the space to make it lighter and brighter. plus we installed a large island with a seamless waterfall countertop to increase the amount of work surfaces and storage. In this kitchen, Waypoint 650F door style in Painted Linen Finish with Eternia 3cm Ancaster quartz countertops accented with Top Knobs Lydia pull in Flat Black finish. The tile on the backsplash is 3x6 Anatolia Marlow with Tide Glossy finish. Also installed is an Elkay Crosstown Stainless Steel single bowl sink with colander, cutting board, drying rack and drain and a Moen Align pullout faucet in Matte Black finish. The flooring is Adura Rigid Sausalito LVT 6x48 plant in Bay Breeze for the kitchen and entry step.

Our clients wanted to increase the size of their kitchen, which was small, in comparison to the overall size of the home. They wanted a more open livable space for the family to be able to hang out downstairs. They wanted to remove the walls downstairs in the front formal living and den making them a new large den/entering room. They also wanted to remove the powder and laundry room from the center of the kitchen, giving them more functional space in the kitchen that was completely opened up to their den. The addition was planned to be one story with a bedroom/game room (flex space), laundry room, bathroom (to serve as the on-suite to the bedroom and pool bath), and storage closet. They also wanted a larger sliding door leading out to the pool. We demoed the entire kitchen, including the laundry room and powder bath that were in the center! The wall between the den and formal living was removed, completely opening up that space to the entry of the house. A small space was separated out from the main den area, creating a flex space for them to become a home office, sitting area, or reading nook. A beautiful fireplace was added, surrounded with slate ledger, flanked with built-in bookcases creating a focal point to the den. Behind this main open living area, is the addition. When the addition is not being utilized as a guest room, it serves as a game room for their two young boys. There is a large closet in there great for toys or additional storage. A full bath was added, which is connected to the bedroom, but also opens to the hallway so that it can be used for the pool bath. The new laundry room is a dream come true! Not only does it have room for cabinets, but it also has space for a much-needed extra refrigerator. There is also a closet inside the laundry room for additional storage. This first-floor addition has greatly enhanced the functionality of this family’s daily lives. Previously, there was essentially only one small space for them to hang out downstairs, making it impossible for more than one conversation to be had. Now, the kids can be playing air hockey, video games, or roughhousing in the game room, while the adults can be enjoying TV in the den or cooking in the kitchen, without interruption! While living through a remodel might not be easy, the outcome definitely outweighs the struggles throughout the process.

This basement was taken from a completely demo'd space to a full service finish. We wanted this space to feel bright and custom, and keep it organic and approachable it its design. We removed the kitchen’s existing countertops and plumbing fixtures to make room for a new divided sink, Grohe faucet, Corian countertops, and a porcelain tile backsplash. The flat-panel cabinetry includes plenty of storage, including a Pull-Down Shelf and Pull-Out Corner Storage. New under cabinet lighting was installed, along with two new electrical outlets and six can lights. After removing the existing window over the kitchen sink, we replaced it with a box bay window that lets in more natural light.

Kitchen remodel in Geneseo, Illinois featuring Koch cabinetry in the “Bristol” door and painted "Ivory" finish with Cambria Quartz counters in the Ironsbridge design. A dramatic before and after of this large space kitchen. After flattening out the "v" shaped bump in the wall, the breakfast area and kitchen would be able to be joined seamlessly. Features include beautiful white cabinetry and counters on the perimeter and a navy painted island with a navy/white quartz. The navy blue glass backsplash behind the range ties the island in effortlessly and a built-in buffet and hutch for the breakfast area.

For the kitchen, FA Design Build chose white painted cabinets, the number one of choice in the DC housing market. Keeping the soffits and surface-mounted lights helped keep costs down. The Level 1 Silestone offers the durability of quartz at an affordable price. The Alterna luxury vinyl floor is a modern choice -- offering durability, unique design, and easy cleaning. The space was completed with a stone and glass backsplash.
