Opening up the kitchen to make a great room transformed this living room! Incorporating light wood floor, light wood cabinets, exposed beams gave us a stunning wood on wood design. Using the existing traditional furniture and adding clean lines turned this living space into a transitional open living space. Adding a large Serena & Lily chandelier and honeycomb island lighting gave this space the perfect impact. The large central island grounds the space and adds plenty of working counter space. Bring on the guests!

Kitchen Remodel highlights a spectacular mix of finishes bringing this transitional kitchen to life. A balance of wood and painted cabinetry for this Millennial Couple offers their family a kitchen that they can share with friends and family. The clients were certain what they wanted in their new kitchen, they choose Dacor appliances and specially wanted a refrigerator with furniture paneled doors. The only company that would create these refrigerator doors are a full eclipse style without a center bar was a custom cabinet company Ovation Cabinetry. The client had a clear vision about the finishes including the rich taupe painted cabinets which blend perfect with the glam backsplash.

The focal point above the stove is enhanced by a 24"x24" die cut marble insert surrounded by pencil tile, as well as the detailed hood with fluted columns and corbels. The decorative relief is repeated over the refrigerator. The cook top juts out oand has front feet adding detail to the room. The built-in refrigerator is concealed with panel armoire doors. The airy oil-rubbed bronze chandelier is enhanced lightly with crystals and echoes the cabinetry hardware. This home is a typical suburban home in a planned community in Katy, Texas (outside of Houston). We took the existing pre-fab builder-grade stained cabinets and refaced them with poplar raised panel doors and drawer fronts. We extended the island and added the spindles. We added decorative feet to the cabinet bases. We installed custom panels on the new Jenn-Air appliances. We added decorative corbels under the bar and in the butler's pantry. The cabinets were painted with a base color of Sherwin Williams Macadamia (SW 6142) and then glazed with Van Dyke Brown (SW 70471). A clear sealer coat was then applied. The island was painted Storm Cloud (SW 6249) and then faux-finished with the same technique. The backsplash tile is from Arizona Tile and is called San Mateo Split Face.

We choose to highlight this project because even though it is a more traditional design style its light neutral color palette represents the beach lifestyle of the south bay. Our relationship with this family started when they attended one of our complimentary educational seminars to learn more about the design / build approach to remodeling. They had been working with an architect and were having trouble getting their vision to translate to the plans. They were looking to add on to their south Redondo home in a manner that would allow for seamless transition between their indoor and outdoor space. Design / Build ended up to be the perfect solution to their remodeling need. Like many in the South Bay, the kitchen is the heart of the home to this family. The homeowners wanted a space that was elegant, warm and clean – an accurate representation of their tastes and style; a place to host Sunday barbecues. The island countertop is natural quartz called Corteccia Leather Slab. A lively cream and blue green quartzite with striking linear striation, Corteccia slabs from Brazil have a special leather finish. Similar to honing, leathering a stone closes the pores, making it much less susceptible to staining and allowing for better performance. The leathered finish presents a unique texture while retaining the stone’s natural color. Since the island was such a rock star we were challenged to find its perfect understated compliment for the perimeter countertops. We selected a polished slab of Madre Perla; a classic natural quartzite. Not only are the colors complimentary but the leather and polished textures play off each other nicely. The rest of the kitchen design fell into place from there.

This transitional design kitchen is a stunning blend of traditional and contemporary styles. The warm and inviting color palette of soft grays and whites provides a calming atmosphere that is perfect for entertaining and relaxing. The sleek, white cabinets offer plenty of storage, while the stainless steel appliances add a modern touch. The island provides extra counter space, while the statement pendant lights add a hint of glamour. The backsplash is a mosaic of glass and stone tiles, creating a stunning focal point. Whether you're entertaining or cooking a meal, this transitional design kitchen is sure to make a statement.

This lovely west Plano kitchen was updated to better serve the lovely family who lives there by removing the existing island (with raised bar) and replaced with custom built option. Quartzite countertops, marble splash and travertine floors create a neutral foundation. Transitional bold lighting over the island offers lots of great task lighting and style.

A beautilful hand crafted inframe kitchen from our Classic Collection. The doors and frames are made from solid Ash and hand painted in Salter Stone (Colortrend) and London Stone (Farrow & Ball).
