The colors of the Best Tile Tozen Strontium glass tile (Natural Gray) backsplash, the Monte Bello granite countertop, and the Benjamin Moore Wythe walls provide a pleasing, soft contrast to the Maple Wood White Cabinets from Decora. • A busy family wanted to rejuvenate their entire first floor. As their family was growing, their spaces were getting more cramped and finding comfortable, usable space was no easy task. The goal of their remodel was to create a warm and inviting kitchen and family room, great room-like space that worked with the rest of the home’s floor plan. The focal point of the new kitchen is a large center island around which the family can gather to prepare meals. Exotic granite countertops and furniture quality light-colored cabinets provide a warm, inviting feel. Commercial-grade stainless steel appliances make this gourmet kitchen a great place to prepare large meals. A wide plank hardwood floor continues from the kitchen to the family room and beyond, tying the spaces together. The focal point of the family room is a beautiful stone fireplace hearth surrounded by built-in bookcases. Stunning craftsmanship created this beautiful wall of cabinetry which houses the home’s entertainment system. French doors lead out to the home’s deck and also let a lot of natural light into the space. From its beautiful, functional kitchen to its elegant, comfortable family room, this renovation achieved the homeowners’ goals. Now the entire family has a great space to gather and spend quality time.

"A family with five children bought this home 2.5 years ago knowing that a kitchen renovation was in the near future. This outdated space with an unfriendly layout needed to be drastically changed to accommodate this large family's needs. Having a list in hand of the requirements for their new space, the homeowners found designer Sheree' Baker of K&W Interiors to work with them. The dark wood floors of the kitchen are balanced with white inset shaker cabinets with a light brown polished countertop. The wall cabinets feature glass doors and are topped with tall crown molding. Brass hardware has been used for all the cabinets. For the backsplash, we have used a soft beige. The countertop features a double bowl undermount sink with a gooseneck faucet. A traditional home need not be a boring one. A stone exterior and steep rooflines add to the impressive nature of the “Andover” design. Once inside, it quickly becomes obvious that nothing has been overlooked in this floor plan. The hearth room opens to the kitchen and turreted dining area. The grand master suite and a screened porch are also found on the main level. Upstairs are three additional bedrooms and two baths. The lower level offers outrageous entertainment, including a movie theatre, billiards, exercise equipment, and a sports court. A guest bedroom and bath can also be found on this level.
