This beautiful estate is positioned with beautiful views and mountain sides around which is why the client loves it so much and never wants to leave. She has lots of pretty decor and treasures she had collected over the years of travelling and wanted to give the home a facelift and better display those items, including a Murano glass chandelier from Italy. The kitchen had a strange peninsula and dining nook that we removed and replaced with a kitchen continent (larger than an island) and built in around the patio door that hide outlets and controls and other supplies. We changed all the flooring, stairway and railing including the gallery area, fireplaces, entryway and many other touches, completely updating the downstairs. Upstairs we remodeled the master bathroom, walk-in closet and after everything was done, she loved it so much that she had us come back a few years later to add another patio door with built in downstairs and an elevator from the master suite to the great room and also opened to a spa outside. Set on the magnificent Long Island Sound, Field Point Circle has a celebrated history as Greenwich’s premier neighborhood—and is considered one of the 10 most prestigious addresses in the country. The Field Point Circle Association, with 27 estate homes, has a single access point and 24 hour security. The Pryory was designed by the eminent architectural firm Cross & Cross in the spirit of an English countryside estate and is set on 2.4 waterfront acres with a private beach and mooring. These 1990's white cabinets are very high end but they needed some new granite and a switch in the base color to a putty colored cream with a taupe glaze detailing to tie them in with the new cream and brown granite (the old granite not pictured here was pink, white and gray). The entire palate came from the already existing back splash.

A timeless and classical kitchen features dual islands for maximum efficiency, while custom millwork and cabinetry finished with a light glazing create a light and airy space. Imported quartzite lends itself to a marble appearance, but is more durable for cooking. Carved millwork details and corbels add depth and detail to the cabinetry. The backsplash incorporates hand made ceramic tiles, custom slab inserts and a custom colored medallion. The 8' ceiling was limiting, due to the 2nd story above. The Right hand column at the main island hides a structural post carrying the entire 2nd floor. It allowed us to open 32' of clear span across the new kitchen & family rooms creating a truly "Great Room" area. Note the view through the far columns show the opening of the Dining room & Foyer after removing those walls. Once again some of these columns were structural and supporting the 2nd floor system. Great view of the Custom site built hood over the cooktop. Owner's did the faux finishing. It's wonderful to have Clients that are creative.
