The existing powder room was outdated. It had not been changed since the home was built 30 years. We designed the room to flow with the contemporary feel of the surrounding spaces and furnishings. To update the powder bathroom, we chose a stainless steel vessel sink centered in the bamboo cabinet the wall was tiled in honed marble carved in a contemporary “stream” design. An illusion of height was created by running the tile vertically in contrast to the horizontal grain of the caramelized bamboo cabinetry. The mirror was framed in limestone and glass mosaics and flanked by iron wall sconces.

The bathrooms were one of my favorite spaces to design! With all the modern comforts one would want, yet dressed elegantly vintage. With gold hardware, unique lighting, and spa-like walk-in showers and bathtubs, it's truly a luxurious adaptation of grand design in today's contemporary style. Our goal here was to offer our clients a full spa-like experience. From the unique aesthetic to the luxury finishes, this master bathroom now has a completely new look and function! For a true spa experience, we installed a shower steam, rain head shower fixture, and whirlpool tub. The bathtub platform actually extends into the shower, working as a bench for the clients to relax on while steaming! Convenient corner shelves optimize shower storage whereas a custom walnut shelf above the bath offers the perfect place to store dry towels. We continued the look of rich, organic walnut with a second wall-mounted shelf above the toilet and a large, semi-customized vanity, where the louvered doors accentuate the natural beauty of this material. The white brick accent wall, herringbone patterned flooring, and black hardware were introduced for texture and a trendy, timeless look that our clients will love for years to come. Designed by Chi Renovation & Design who serve Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs, with an emphasis on the North Side and North Shore. You'll find their work from the Loop through Lincoln Park, Skokie, Wilmette, and all of the way up to Lake Forest.

This tired old Powder room was uninviting, lacked any practical storage and was oh so stuck in the beige 90’s! We pulled out the washbasin, toilet and glass splashback leaving only the tiled floor and the elegant wall lights. Our client wanted a classic modern look, so the transformation included large marble - like wall tiles and a custom designed American Walnut vanity. We included a generous cupboard in the vanity and a slim counter top basin. Above the vanity we linked the American Walnut again in the detailing of the mirror frame. It’s now a pleasure to be in!
