Classic meets Modern in this West Village historic home renovation! Preserving the character and architectural integrity of this home while updating it for this modern busy family, we infused the design with old world charm but make it hip. We started by ripping everything down to the studs, re-arranging the kitchen for a more open feel, adding an oversized accordion door facing the backyard, and adding a powder room where the hallway used to be. The tiny powder room fit just inside of the pre-existing hallway, but served plenty of punch. Hand-painted lime wash walls with gold accenting done by Stevi Fourouli, enveloped the space, white the 3 walls surrounding the custom marble floating sink are pink bottaccino fluted marble. The oversized arteriors sconces and chandelier add drama to the space, while the mixed metal mirror bounces the light in the room.

We designed an update to this small guest cloakroom in a period property in Edgbaston. We used a calming colour palette and introduced texture in some of the tiled areas which are highlighted with the placement of lights. A bespoke vanity was created from Caeserstone Quartz to fit the space perfectly and create a streamlined design.

A Statement Bathroom with a Industrial vibe with 3D Metal Gauze Effect Tiles. We used ambient lighting to highlight these decorative tiles. A wave counter basin in white contrasts with the matt black worktop and tap. This sits on a bespoke bronze coloured floating unit. To complete the look we used rustic wood effect porcelain tiles.

In the mud room, we built a coat rack with cubbies for backpacks, shoes and boots with a wainscoting back, painted in gray for contrast but coordinated with the powder room vanity and floor. The bench offers a perfect place to sit while taking off or putting on shoes. The powder room has a washable woven wallcovering and a patterned porcelain floor. The nickel chandelier is open and airy with light crystal accents, which coordinate with the vanity knobs. Six inch crown molding in ivory continues through the entire first floor. Countertop for the vanity in the powder room is a Tajmahal polished quartzite in a milky brown color and an Ogee edged detail enhancement. The owner chose antique mirrors to go from floor to ceiling for an interesting feature. The faucets go through the wall to allow for more counter space. The scalloped backsplash is a nice detail. The floor is a traditional Savannah red brick installed in a herringbone pattern.
