The rear wall of the house was bumped out 4 feet to expand the kitchen. New windows bring light in above the countertops, while a large island anchors the space.

This remodel incorporated the client’s love of artwork and color into a cohesive design with elegant, custom details that will stand the test of time. The space was closed in, dark and dated. The walls at the island were the first thing you saw when entering the condo. So we removed the walls which really opened it up to a welcoming space. Storage was an issue too so we borrowed space from the main floor bedroom closet and created a ‘butler’s pantry’. The client’s flair for the contemporary, original art, and love of bright colors is apparent in the materials, finishes and paint colors. Jewelry-like artisan pulls are repeated throughout the kitchen to pull it together. The Butler’s pantry provided extra storage for kitchen items and adds a little glam. The drawers are wrapped in leather with a Shagreen pattern (Asian sting ray). A creative mix of custom cabinetry materials includes gray washed white oak to complimented the new flooring and ground the mix of materials on the island, along with white gloss uppers and matte bright blue tall cabinets. With the exception of the artisan pulls used on the integrated dishwasher drawers and blue cabinets, push and touch latches were used to keep it as clean looking as possible. Kitchen details include a chef style sink, quartz counters, motorized assist for heavy drawers and various cabinetry organizers.

The architecture of this modern house has unique design features. The entrance foyer is bright and spacious with beautiful open frame stairs and large windows. The open-plan interior design combines the living room, dining room and kitchen providing an easy living with a stylish layout. The bathrooms and en-suites throughout the house complement the overall spacious feeling of the house.

A gorgeous kitchen remodeled from a builder’s basic, incorporating a palette of bright blue, soft grey and pops of warm copper. As a multi-generational home, it was really important to create smooth transitions, allowing ease of accessibility, and the client’s favourite colour, blue! We started, with removing a wall in the kitchen, that opened up the space to the much-used family room. We created an island with overhang for conversations with the cook, and a rest stop for Grandma. As all three adults have different dietary demands, a set of wall ovens was added, and a commercial grade range hood for lots of yummy food prep. Additional functional design features a new built-in buffet with storage, and a window bench seat. By adding a pendant light over the kitchen table, along with the beautiful big window, this space has been lovingly updated, showcasing the family’s personality and has now earned the most popular spot in the house. This fun kitchen is a perfect fit for its’ owners! As a returning client we knew this space would be a pleasure to complete, having previously updated their main bath. The variegated blue picket tiles add bold colour the homeowners craved, while the slab doors in a natural maple with matte black finishes and soft white quartz countertops offer a warm modern backdrop. Filled with personality, this vibrant new kitchen inspires their love of cooking. The small footprint required creative planning to make the most efficient use of space while still including an open shelf section to allow for display and an open feel. The addition of a second sink was a game changer, allowing both sides of the room to function optimally. This kitchen was the perfect finishing touch for their home!

Le projet Gaîté est une rénovation totale d’un appartement de 85m2. L’appartement avait baigné dans son jus plusieurs années, il était donc nécessaire de procéder à une remise au goût du jour. Nous avons conservé les emplacements tels quels. Seul un petit ajustement a été fait au niveau de l’entrée pour créer une buanderie. Le vert, couleur tendance 2020, domine l’esthétique de l’appartement. On le retrouve sur les façades de la cuisine signées Bocklip, sur les murs en peinture, ou par touche sur le papier peint et les éléments de décoration. Les espaces s’ouvrent à travers des portes coulissantes ou la verrière permettant à la lumière de circuler plus librement.

What a fun yet challenging project. After numerous space plan options, we've finally decided on removing a wall and switching it out with cabinetry that is functional for a kitchen and the dining area. We've added a peninsula at a 120 degree corner to expand the working surface, add bar seating and still keep the space open and inviting from adjoining spaces. Blueberry oak cabinets with satin brass hardware are balanced out with white quartz countertop and gray uppers. Wide plank vinyl helped keep this space masculine and formal while the stairs add a softer touch that's being complimented by warm tone furniture. To tie in warmth and masculinity, we've opted for custom miter-cut shelves in the corner. Windows give us great light and a corner cabinet can block a lot of it out, so floating shelves seemed most appropriate (no visible hardware). With a lot of material and colors, space still seems cohesive and inviting. Very formal, yet ready to be used for entertaining and day to day living. Hale Production Studios
