Part of a complete remodel, this kitchen was expanded to include a 10 ft island, new cabinets, a black white and gold colorway and beautiful vinyl flooring

Small San Diego Kitchen with white shaker Ikea cabinets and black quartzite countertops. We used a rolling table as the kitchen island which also is used as a high top kitchen table. Incorporating a wood hood as a detail to add warmth to the space.

The pantry area right off of the kitchen provides ample storage and a great pop of blue.

If this beautiful modern kitchen had a catchphrase, it would be "go big, or go home!". With an expansive island, large light fixtures, oversized subway tile, and lengthy cabinet hardware, everything in this space is scaled perfectly to match the high ceilings and the spacious room. The magnificent fireplace is the perfect accent to this large, open concept space. Its modern look and cozy warmth are the glue that ties this space together. Weather hosting an elaborate dinner party, or enjoying movie night with the family, this space will bring the "wow" factor to all.

The previous two-tiered peninsula was bulky and separated the cook from dining area. Replacing with a one level peninsula, large apron front sink and gorgeous brass faucet make the space feel more open, spacious and introduces extra seating and counterspace. Calcatta gold drapes the countertops and backsplash and a spark of black and brass complete this sleek design.

The pot filler is a fun yet piratical feature.

A place where we gather to chat, drink wine, do homework, even cook sometimes ... a kitchen. Or, the core of a house - one place that is never avoided by any dweller. In this modern kitchen, with a farm house twist, I played with textures more than colors. White palette with grey tones are softened by green stools, a sisal rug and Turkish towels. Natural flowers are never a bad idea (daisies hit the spot for me this morning). Textured quartz on the island really made a difference in this space. It bonded the floor and counter top through these organic textures and wave-like ripples. A really interesting way to unify the hard and solid surfaces. The kitchen and bathroom renovations have resulted in a large Main House with modern grey accents. The kitchen was upgraded with new quartz countertops, cabinetry, an under-mount sink, and stainless steel appliances, including a double oven. The white farm sink looks excellent when combined with the Havenwood chevron mosaic porcelain tile. Over the island kitchen island panel, functional recessed lighting, and pendant lights provide that luxury air. Remarkable features such as the tile flooring, a tile shower, and an attractive screen door slider were used in the bathroom remodeling. The Feiss Mercer Oil-Rubbed Bronze Bathroom Vanity Light, which is well-blended to the Grey Shakers cabinet and Jeffrey Alexander Merrick Cabinet Pull in Matte Black serving as sink base cabinets, has become a centerpiece of this bathroom renovation.

The modern kitchen of the 1950’s was streamlined with built-in appliances and ample cabinet storage! Unfortunately, modern of the 50’s isn’t so modern anymore so these homeowners tore the kitchen out and along with it, a wall. I was called in after demo was completed to help with the design! A good kitchen design isn’t just about aesthetics — gorgeous cabinets, beautiful floors, fabulous appliances, and one-of-a-kind countertops. Although those are all very important, function and organization are always my first priority. Organization isn’t just about having a space designated for each kitchen item. It has more to do with keeping all your necessary gadgets used for a certain task within reach. Even small kitchens can have different zones. In this kitchen we designated the back wall for the baking area. And in doing so, we made sure there was ample space and organization for all of their baking goodies. We even added a few more inches of depth to the wall cabinet to accommodate storage needs. Every era has trending colors! We chose to stay with the classic white and a neutral cappuccino to do a two-tone cabinet. Then we accented the baking cabinets with charcoal. Unless you are feeling inspired by a new trending color, only a splash of the color is necessary to update your space. If you aren’t brave enough to put it on your cabinets, bring it in through a rug or some new accessories. Granite will always be my number one choice for countertops! It’s durability, color range, and uniqueness set it apart from all the man-made options out there. This color, Santa Cecilia, has been a popular color for ages and blends seamlessly with the kitchen palette. We are spoiled today to have so many options for our kitchens!
