This mid-century modern home celebrates the beauty of nature, and this newly restored kitchen embraces the home's roots with materials to match. Walnut cabinets with a slab front in a natural finish complement the rest of the home's paneling beautifully. A thick quartzite countertop on the island, and the same stone for the perimeter countertops and backsplash feature an elegant veining. The natural light and large windows above the sink further connect this kitchen to the outdoors, making it a true celebration of nature.\

This mid-century modern was a full restoration back to this home's former glory. The vertical grain fir ceilings were reclaimed, refinished, and reinstalled. The floors were a special epoxy blend to imitate terrazzo floors that were so popular during this period. The quartz countertops waterfall on both ends and the handmade tile accents the backsplash. We revamped this 1960's Mid-Century Valley Glen home, by transforming its wide spacious kitchen into a modern mid-century style. We completely removed the old cabinets, reconfigured the layout, upgraded the electrical and plumbing system of the kitchen. We installed 6 dimmable recessed light cans, new GFI outlets, new switches, and brand-new appliances. We moved the stovetop's location opposite from its original location for the sake of space efficiency to create new countertop space for dining. Relocating the stovetop required creating a new gas line and ventilation pipeline. We installed 56 linear feet of beautiful custom flat-panel walnut and off-white cabinets that house the stovetop refrigerator, wine cellar, sink, and dishwasher seamlessly. The cabinets have beautiful gold brush hardware, self-close mechanisms, adjustable shelves, full extension drawers, and a spice rack pull-out. There is also a pullout drawer that glides out quietly for easy access to store essentials at the party. We installed 45 sq. ft. of teal subway tile backsplash adds a pop of color to the brown walnut, gold, and neutral color palette of the kitchen. The 45 sq. ft. of countertop is made of a solid color off-white custom-quartz which matches the color of the top cabinets of the kitchen. Paired with the 220 sq. ft. of natural off-white stone flooring tiles, the color combination of the kitchen embodies the essence of modern mid-century style.

We completely transformed the original small Kitchen into a space twice as large. The homeowner's love to cook and this new Kitchen is designed with both beauty and high function in mind with plenty of well designed storage, generous amount of counterspace and unique design features such as the quartersawn white oak table end of the island which intersects the beautiful white macabus quartzite waterfall edge. The two tone perimeter cabinets bring subtle interest to the space.

The clients loved their newly purchased, quiet, and secluded home, but it needed a full renovation. As the homeowners are avid chefs, the design and intelligent usage plan for the new kitchen took top priority. They were inspired by a visit to the DEANE showroom displays and selected a sleek, modern style without hardware for their midcentury, Italian modern update. High gloss, lacquer cabinets in a soft grey add warmth to the room, and all cabinets and drawers are opened either via channel pulls or touch-operated. To keep the quartzite countertops clean and free of clutter, the drawers were customized to include knife inserts, silverware dividers, and spices out of sight with a cooking utensil drawer right below the range and a pull-out cabinet underneath the sink to give easy access to cleaning supplies. The patinaed stainless steel island with distressed, wire-brushed cabinets acts as both an area for eating as well as entertaining, with storage designed for serving platters. Appliance garages flank the cooktop counter areas, and the detail at the bottom of the custom hood echos the channel pulls. Refrigerated beverage drawers and contemporary SubZero/Wolf model appliances complete the space, with the single slab, seamless backsplash providing a dramatic focal point. The designer loves how the mixture of stainless steel and high gloss lacquer makes the room so stunning.

STRATFORD KITCHEN A mid-century inspired kitchen, designed for a mid-century house. We love mid-century style, and so when we were approached to design this kitchen for a beautifully revived mid-century villa in Warwickshire, it was a dream commission. Simple, clean cabinetry was brought to life with the gorgeous iroko timber, and the cabinetry sat on a matt black plinth – a classic mid-century detail. A walk-in pantry, lined in single-depth shelving, was framed behind sliding doors glazed with traditional reeded glass. Refrigeration and storage was contained in a long run of tall cabinets, that finished in a mirror-backed bar with integral ice bucket But the show-stealer was a set of bespoke, handmade shelves that screened the kitchen from the hallway in this open plan home. Subtly detailed, like only real furniture-makers can, with traditional jointing and mid-century radiused edges.

Five stars isn’t enough! Our project was to reconfigure and update the main floor of a house we recently purchased that was built in 1961. We wanted to maintain some of the unique feeling it originally had but bring it up-to-date and eliminate the closed-in rooms and downright weird layout that was the result of multiple, partial remodeling projects. We began with a long wishlist of changes which also required replacement of very antiquated plumbing, electrical wiring and HVAC. We even found a fireplace that had been walled in and needed major re-construction. Many other aspects and details on this incredible list we made included an all new kitchen layout, converting a bedroom into a master closet, adding new half-bath, completely rebuilding the master bath, and adding stone, tile and custom built cabinetry. Our design plans included many fixtures and details that we specified and required professional installation and careful handling. Innovative helped us make reasonable decisions. Their skilled staff took us through a design process that made sense. There were many questions and all were answered with sincere conversation and positive – innovation – on how we could achieve our goals. Innovative provided us with professional consultants, who listened and were courteous and creative, with solid knowledge and informative judgement. When they didn’t have an answer, they did the research. They developed a comprehensive project plan that exceeded our expectations. Every item on our long list was checked-off. All agreed on work was fulfilled and they completed all this in just under four months. Innovative took care of putting together a team of skilled professional specialists who were all dedicated to make everything right. Engineering, construction, supervision, and I cannot even begin to describe how much thanks we have for the demolition crew! Our multiple, detailed project designs from Raul and professional design advice from Mindy and the connections she recommended are all of the best quality. Diego Jr., Trevor and his team kept everything on track and neat and tidy every single day and Diego Sr., Mark, Ismael, Albert, Santiago and team are true craftsmen who follow-up and make the most minuscule woodworking details perfect. The cabinets by Tim and electrical work and installation of fixtures by Kemchan Harrilal-BB and Navindra Doolratram, and Augustine and his crew on tile and stone work – all perfection. Aisling and the office crew were always responsive to our calls and requests. And of course Clark and Eric who oversaw everything and gave us the best of the best! On the interior, the Great Room comprised of the Living Room, Kitchen and Dining Room features the space defining massive 18-foot long, triangular-shaped clerestory window pressed to the underside of the ranch’s main gable roofline. This window beautifully lights the Kitchen island below while framing a cluster of diverse mature trees lining a horse riding trail to the North 15 feet off the floor. The cabinetry of the Kitchen and Living Room are custom high-gloss white lacquer finished with Rosewood cabinet accents strategically placed including the 19-foot long island with seating, preparation sink, dishwasher and storage. The Kitchen island and aligned-on-axis Dining Room table are celebrated by unique pendants offering contemporary embellishment to the minimal space.
