This luxurious interior tells a story of more than a modern condo building in the heart of Philadelphia. It unfolds to reveal layers of history through Persian rugs, a mix of furniture styles, and has unified it all with an unexpected color story. The palette for this riverfront condo is grounded in natural wood textures and green plants that allow for a playful tension that feels both fresh and eclectic in a metropolitan setting. The high-rise unit boasts a long terrace with a western exposure that we outfitted with custom Lexington outdoor furniture distinct in its finishes and balance between fun and sophistication.

Mid Century Modern Renovation - nestled in the heart of Arapahoe Acres. This home was purchased as a foreclosure and needed a complete renovation. To complete the renovation - new floors, walls, ceiling, windows, doors, electrical, plumbing and heating system were redone or replaced. The kitchen and bathroom also underwent a complete renovation - as well as the home exterior and landscaping. Many of the original details of the home had not been preserved so Kimberly Demmy Design worked to restore what was intact and carefully selected other details that would honor the mid century roots of the home. This remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs. The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. This new riverfront townhouse is on three levels. The interiors blend clean contemporary elements with traditional cottage architecture. It is luxurious, yet very relaxed. The Weiland sliding door is fully recessed in the wall on the left. The fireplace stone is called Hudson Ledgestone by NSVI. The cabinets are custom. The cabinet on the left has articulated doors that slide out and around the back to reveal the tv. It is a beautiful solution to the hide/show tv dilemma that goes on in many households! The wall paint is a custom mix of a Benjamin Moore color, Glacial Till, AF-390. The trim paint is Benjamin Moore, Floral White, OC-29. Probably our favorite Home Theater System. This system makes going to the movies as easy as going downstairs. Based around Sony’s 4K Projector, this system looks incredible and has awesome sound. A Stewart Filmscreen provides the best canvas for our picture to be viewed. Eight speakers by B&W (including a subwoofer) are built into the walls or ceiling. All of the Equipment is hidden behind the screen-wall in a nice rack – out of the way and more importantly – out of view. Using the simple remote or your mobile device (tablet or phone) you can easily control the system and watch your favorite movie or channel. The system also has streaming service available along with the Kaleidescape System.

de la découverte de cet appartement la contrainte était évidente il n'y avait pas d'espace pour la cuisine. Certes il y avait une belle entrée, une belle lumière aussi celle de la mer. Mais en vacances prendre le temps de cuisiner avec en plus tous nos bons produits locaux, il fallait donc commencer par faire de la place pour cette cuisine. Donc priorité au décloisonnement, le mur de l'entrée est tombé par terre. Et une belle cuisine a été implantée, avec ses meubles en effet béton grisé, et son granit noir. Mais à l'origine dans l’entrée il y avait deux couchages donc il fallait les recréer tout en gardant un bel espace de circulation dans cet appartement. Donc nous avons créé un petit canapé très cosy avec un tiroir magique où se cache un autre lit. Et en miroir un autre canapé, lui vous offrira la belle surprise d’avoir un couchage de 1m60, avec un matelas à mémoire de forme, de quoi passer des nuits à rêver. Ensuite il fallait lui apporter du charme quoi de mieux que la couleur pour faire vivre l’espace, un joli Céladon, un bleu vert ou un vert bleu comme vous préférez. Et deux jolies consoles et tables basses en métal de la même couleur céladon et pour souligner délicatement des jolis rideaux.

The sofa is a comfortable washable slip-covered piece. We used a natural log coffee table and a jute rug to ground the living room, adding bright accents in blues and oranges to create pops of color. On the wall behind the sofa hangs a painting of a surfer complimenting the bright pillows and surf theme throughout.

This classic contemporary Living room is brimming with simple elegant details, one of which being the use of modern open shelving. We've decorated these shelves with muted sculptural forms in order to juxtapose the sharp lines of the fireplace stone mantle. Incorporating open shelving into a design allows you to add visual interest with the use of decor items to personalize any space!
