SOMETIMES, A CLASSIC DESIGN IS ALL YOU NEED FOR AN OPEN-PLAN SPACE THAT WORKS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. This client wanted to extend their existing space to create an open plan kitchen where the whole family could spend time together. To meet this brief, we used the beautiful Shelford from our British kitchen range, with shaker doors in Inkwell Blue and Light Grey. The stunning kitchen island added the wow factor to this design, where the sink was located and also some beautiful oak shelving to house books and accessories. We used quartz composite worktops in Ice Branco throughout, Blanco sink and taps, and completed the space with AEG built-in and integrated appliances. We also created a functional utility room, which complemented the main kitchen design.

Cabinetry: The cabinetry features an Elmwood Full Access Frameless, with a Mirabeau 2-3/4” rail door style, 1-pc MDF construction. The sink wall cabinets, range wall cabinets, island cabinets, and dry bar are a Vienna Fog satin paint. The kitchen tall cabinets, and built-in TV area are a Caviar stain paint with custom mullions and antique mirror inserts. Countertops: This kitchen features 3 cm Caesarstone Vanilla Bean quartz countertops. Backsplash: The backsplash features a Calacatta Avant Garde marble slab, book-matched at the center of the the range/hood area, single slab pieces above the sink (8.5" high) and at the bar area (from countertop to bottom of wall cabinets). Fixtures: From Newport Brass, East Linear pull-down faucet, a Jacobean air disposal switch, and a sink strainer, all in Satin Brass. From Rohl, an Allia Single Bowl Undermount Fireclay Sink in white. Hardware: A mixture of Schoolhouse Electric hex knobs and Edgecliff pulls (varying sizes based on drawer width), in their natural brass finish Flooring: The flooring features an engineered wood in D&M Silver Oak Pearl Gray, 1/2" x 7-1/2" engineered wood floor, random planks. Window/Door: Pella 450 Proline 3-panel sliding contemporary door with a matching Pella casement window, satin nickel hardware.

We feel a waterfall of emotion when we enter this monochromatic kitchen. The focus of this remodel was to update the clean lines and maintain the modern style. This was accomplished through the use of a bright white shaker style cabinet with a contemporary 2 step style and built-in appliances. The client expressed that organization and functionality of their cabinet interiors was a priority for them so we incorporated utensil, drawer and corner storage solutions that transfer their items with the slightest pull. A waterfall edge on the peninsula counter top shows off the beautiful marble stone and creates a feature unique to this kitchen. Please note that phase I, the kitchen, was completed while Kay was employed by Redstone Kitchens. We combined LED lighting with pendant lighting in both rooms. Now every work surface is well lit and welcoming. The kitchen has even incorporated a hidden Sonos sound system, letting the family listen to TV while cooking, or pipe in music during dinner.

Warm, wooden, honey tones, matte black fixtures, and clean white counters and cabinets give this kitchen so much space and depth. Featured is our 46" ledge workstation sink. It is perfectly situated to prep, serve, and tackle dishes effortlessly.

The inspiration for this Glebe kitchen was the white washed interiors synonymous with Scandinavian design. Planning the spaces of the kitchen was something that was broken into 5 key areas; cooking station, cleaning area, coffee bar, place for casual family dining and lastly a nook to sit with a great book that was still integrated in the kitchen.
