A newly built home is outfitted with a luxury designed Italian Kitchen with high gloss gray tall cabinets and a brown tone veneer island. The veneer island top is placed on the stone top for an eclectic look and feel. The butler's pantry is directly behind the kitchen. The space is open to the dining and living areas as well as the outdoors.

The topography of the site for Bluff House was a rift cut into the hillside, which inspired the design concept of an ascent up a narrow canyon path. Two main wings comprise a “T” floor plan; the first includes a two-story family living wing with office, children’s rooms and baths, and Master bedroom suite. The kitchen features clean minimal lines, a large, over 4m, island, a breakfast cabinet with illuminated glazed interior, and a triangular (on plan) full height end cabinet which resolved the oblique angle within the run of the wall. Finishes include two bespoke colours of paint and Fumed Eucalyptus veneer, back painted glass and Excava by Caesarstone which creates a dramatic centrepiece to the kitchen.

This projects takes a redundant Dutch barn and transforms it into a contemporary home. The kitchen space is part of an open plan living area with the staircase beyond. The living spaces are on the first floor to allow enjoyment of extensive views over the Herefordshire countryside. Architect Garry Thomas unlocked planning permission for this open countryside location to add substantial value to the farm. Project carried on whilst working at RRA. As RRA design director Garry having built up the company from a staff of 5 to 23 left in 2016 to launch Thomas Studio Architects.
