Special touches include custom-built kitchen cabinets of barn wood, wide-plank flooring of reclaimed Heart Pine, a ships ladder made from rough-sawn Hemlock, and a porch constructed entirely of weather resistant Locust. The most notable design component is the exceptional use of reclaimed wood throughout nearly every application. Sourced from not only one, but two different Indiana barns, this hand hewn and rough sawn wood is used in a variety of applications including custom cabinetry with a white glaze finish, dark stained window casing, butcher block island countertop and handsome woodwork on the fireplace mantel, range hood, and ceiling. Underfoot, Oak wood flooring is salvaged from a tobacco barn, giving it its unique tone and rich shine that comes only from the unique process of drying and curing tobacco. Au cœur du 16ème arrondissement, ce 2 pièces parisien datant des années 30 ne demandait qu’à révéler son charme potentiel. La direction artistique du projet, en cohérence avec l’univers de notre cliente s’est vite portée sur des teintes pastel. Le parti pris coloriel s’affiche dans la cuisine, où la couleur nude a été choisie pour les façades. A la couleur nude, s’oppose un vert nordique que l’on trouve en mineur côté cuisine et de façon majeure dans le salon et le séjour. Les bibliothèques existantes qui se font face, se sont parées d’une teinte bleu-vert dont seul Farrow and Ball a le secret. Le mix de mobilier ancien et contemporain de la cliente est venu sublimer le charme de ce lieu.

This small, rustic, kitchen is part of a 1200 sq ft cabin near the California coast- Hollister Ranch. There is no electricity, only wind power. We used the original wood siding inside, and washed it with a light stain to lighten the cabin. The kitchen is completely redesigned, using natural handscraped pine with a glaze coat. Stainless steel hood, skylight, and pine flooring. We used a natural sided wood beam to support the upper cabinets, with wood pegs for hanging vegetables and flowers drying. A hand made wrought iron pot rack is above the sink, in front of the window. Antique pine table, and custom made chairs. Multiple Ranch and Mountain Homes are shown in this project catalog: from Camarillo horse ranches to Lake Tahoe ski lodges. Featuring rock walls and fireplaces with decorative wrought iron doors, stained wood trusses and hand scraped beams. Rustic designs give a warm lodge feel to these large ski resort homes and cattle ranches. Pine plank or slate and stone flooring with custom old world wrought iron lighting, leather furniture and handmade, scraped wood dining tables give a warmth to the hard use of these homes, some of which are on working farms and orchards. Antique and new custom upholstery, covered in velvet with deep rich tones and hand knotted rugs in the bedrooms give a softness and warmth so comfortable and livable. In the kitchen, range hoods provide beautiful points of interest, from hammered copper, steel, and wood. Unique stone mosaic, custom painted tile and stone backsplash in the kitchen and baths. designed by Maraya Interior Design. With a full kitchen renovation, we installed new cabinets and equipment, boxing in the fridge and tiling the backsplash. We then made these elements pop by adding a darker paint colour to the walls, doors and ceilings. Finally we elevated the space by sourcing vintage handles, a waxed oak countertop, brass taps and a feature pendant light.
