The Eagle Harbor Cabin is located on a wooded waterfront property on Lake Superior, at the northerly edge of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, about 300 miles northeast of Minneapolis. The wooded 3-acre site features the rocky shoreline of Lake Superior, a lake that sometimes behaves like the ocean. The 2,000 SF cabin cantilevers out toward the water, with a 40-ft. long glass wall facing the spectacular beauty of the lake. The cabin is composed of two simple volumes: a large open living/dining/kitchen space with an open timber ceiling structure and a 2-story “bedroom tower,” with the kids’ bedroom on the ground floor and the parents’ bedroom stacked above. The interior spaces are wood paneled, with exposed framing in the ceiling. The cabinets use PLYBOO, a FSC-certified bamboo product, with mahogany end panels. The use of mahogany is repeated in the custom mahogany/steel curvilinear dining table and in the custom mahogany coffee table. The cabin has a simple, elemental quality that is enhanced by custom touches such as the curvilinear maple entry screen and the custom furniture pieces. The cabin utilizes native Michigan hardwoods such as maple and birch. The exterior of the cabin is clad in corrugated metal siding, offset by the tall fireplace mass of Montana ledgestone at the east end. The house has a number of sustainable or “green” building features, including 2x8 construction (40% greater insulation value); generous glass areas to provide natural lighting and ventilation; large overhangs for sun and snow protection; and metal siding for maximum durability. Sustainable interior finish materials include bamboo/plywood cabinets, linoleum floors, locally-grown maple flooring and birch paneling, and low-VOC paints.

La cocina es pequeña, pero muy bien configurada. El aprovechamiento máximo se consigue al realizar dos lineas de mobiliario alto con diferente fondo. And we are cabinet dealers for 6 nationally distributed cabinet lines like traditional showrooms. At Main Line Kitchen Design instead of a full showroom we use a small office and selection center, and 100’s of sample doorstyles, finish and sample kitchen cabinets, as well as photo design books and CAD on laptops to display your kitchen. This way we eliminate the need and the cost associated with a showroom business model. This makes the design process more convenient for our customers, and we pass the significant savings on to them as well. We believe that since a web site like Houzz.com has over half a million kitchen photos any advantage to going to a full kitchen showroom with full kitchen displays has been lost. Almost no customer today will ever get to see a display kitchen in their door style and finish there are just too many possibilities. And of course the design of each kitchen is unique anyway.

A Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project White shaker cabinets were used in this Eichler kitchen to keep the space bright and simple. The double sided cabinets add a twist to an otherwise typical galley kitchen, creating an Open Galley kitchen, with bookcases on one side and an oven cabinet on the other side. Open shelves served as cookbook storage on one end of the island and the entire kitchen served as walls to three different spaces - the dining room, living room and kitchen! The kitchen was moved forward from a dark corner at the back of the apartment, to join the main living / dining space. We combined an art deco aesthetic with contemporary details to create a space that will feel contemporary for years. The curved peninsula creates a soft transition from the entry to the kitchen to the living room.

Full remodeling of 2 entire hotels suite, including a kitchen, 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and custom closets and millwork. The project is a Floor to ceiling full remodeling, where we replaced all flooring, added beautiful wall covering and upgraded all lighting and dimmers. The Result is calm, serene, open spaces have been created. Guests can now come to these suites after a busy day in the heart of the city of NY and relax in these high end suites. The decor is modern and the color palette is neutral and refreshing to appeal to many different guests tastes. We also did a number of smart upgrades for the wireless control of the HVAC system, dimmers and electrical roller shades. This is the living room open plan space with a dining area. The kitchen has modern clean lines with all integrated stainless steel appliances. The counter top is the Sleek Concrete Caesar Stone. The backsplash is a high Gloss subway tile.
