The kitchen is outfitted with Subzero and Wolf Appliances and a Miele coffee station. Natural walnut island sits in the center of the kitchen with matching wood hood band and shelving paired with brass hardware and lighting accents. The backsplash is a gorgeous combination of handmade tile with quartz backsplash at the range for a modern flair.

A tiny kitchen that was redone with what we all wish for storage, storage and more storage. The design dilemma was how to incorporate the existing flooring and wallpaper the client wanted to preserve. The kitchen is a combo of both traditional and transitional element thus becoming a neat eclectic kitchen. The wood finish cabinets are natural Alder wood with a clear finish while the main portion of the kitchen is a fantastic olive-green finish. for a cleaner look the countertop quartz has been used for the backsplash as well. This way no busy grout lines are present to make the kitchen feel heavier and busy.

After the second fallout of the Delta Variant amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic in mid 2021, our team working from home, and our client in quarantine, SDA Architects conceived Japandi Home. The initial brief for the renovation of this pool house was for its interior to have an "immediate sense of serenity" that roused the feeling of being peaceful. Influenced by loneliness and angst during quarantine, SDA Architects explored themes of escapism and empathy which led to a “Japandi” style concept design – the nexus between “Scandinavian functionality” and “Japanese rustic minimalism” to invoke feelings of “art, nature and simplicity.” This merging of styles forms the perfect amalgamation of both function and form, centred on clean lines, bright spaces and light colours. Grounded by its emotional weight, poetic lyricism, and relaxed atmosphere; Japandi Home aesthetics focus on simplicity, natural elements, and comfort; minimalism that is both aesthetically pleasing yet highly functional. Japandi Home places special emphasis on sustainability through use of raw furnishings and a rejection of the one-time-use culture we have embraced for numerous decades. A plethora of natural materials, muted colours, clean lines and minimal, yet-well-curated furnishings have been employed to showcase beautiful craftsmanship – quality handmade pieces over quantitative throwaway items. A neutral colour palette compliments the soft and hard furnishings within, allowing the timeless pieces to breath and speak for themselves. These calming, tranquil and peaceful colours have been chosen so when accent colours are incorporated, they are done so in a meaningful yet subtle way. Japandi home isn’t sparse – it’s intentional. The integrated storage throughout – from the kitchen, to dining buffet, linen cupboard, window seat, entertainment unit, bed ensemble and walk-in wardrobe are key to reducing clutter and maintaining the zen-like sense of calm created by these clean lines and open spaces. The Scandinavian concept of “hygge” refers to the idea that ones home is your cosy sanctuary. Similarly, this ideology has been fused with the Japanese notion of “wabi-sabi”; the idea that there is beauty in imperfection. Hence, the marriage of these design styles is both founded on minimalism and comfort; easy-going yet sophisticated. Conversely, whilst Japanese styles can be considered “sleek” and Scandinavian, “rustic”, the richness of the Japanese neutral colour palette aids in preventing the stark, crisp palette of Scandinavian styles from feeling cold and clinical. Japandi Home’s introspective essence can ultimately be considered quite timely for the pandemic and was the quintessential lockdown project our team needed.

This light and airy kitchen is the definition of elegance. It has white shaker cabinets with satin gold pulls topped with white quartz counters. The matching white quartz backsplash provides a clean look. The center piece of the room is the large island! With seating for four, the deep blue island is loaded with storage and has a drawer microwave. For a special touch on the white quartz counter, we used an extra thick quartz slab. The striking gold pendants are from Ferguson Lighting. Sleek and contemporary, this beautiful home is located in Villanova, PA. Blue, white and gold are the palette of this transitional design. With custom touches and an emphasis on flow and an open floor plan, the renovation included the kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, mudroom, two powder rooms and floors. This country style shaker kitchen has been thoughtfully designed to compliment a magnificent and historic Tudor country house in the beautiful south Shropshire countryside. Every requirement of our client was considered during the design process and the results are spectacular. A generous and welcoming oak island is surrounded by soft warm grey cabinetry that has been expertly fitted to the characterful stone walls. A window seat sits below one of the thoughtfully restored windows, making it the perfect place to relax after a stroll in the countryside. A bifold breakfast pantry makes preparing the most important meal of the day a breeze, while the generous Belfast sink sits proudly under another beautifully crafted window. The bespoke chimney breast detail and cabinetry frame the impressive AGA range cooker perfectly.

Furniture toe details throughout kitchen. Fridge/freezer Sub-Zero units. All switches and outlets are underneath upper cabinetry to keep a clean backsplash.

This high-gloss lacquered Störmer, German kitchen, was designed using a horizontal handle-less aluminum gola profile for door and drawer openings. The main finished used in this kitchen is a white high gloss lacquer with matching laser edges, paired with a thermo-pine structured HPL laminate. Units consisted of: Blum Legrabox deep pan drawers, pan drawers with inner drawers, corner lemans, bi-fold wall units, open shelves, tall unit with inner pan drawers, tall glass unit with glass shelves, custom coffee niche with pull-out shelf and built-in drawer, built-in oven tall unit and built-in LED lighting throughout. Island features deep pan drawers and an open niche for microwave and small accessories storage. In addition, a unique a L-shape built-in table designed using live-edge solid walnut. The handle-less aluminum gola continues to wrap around the island to create continuous lines. Plinth LED lighting surrounds entire island.

She sourced the Cafe line from GE for the appliances, and they really elevate the space beautifully.
