Working with the owners interior designer, Anita Mitchell, we decided to take inspiration from the spectacular view and make it a key feature of the design using a variety of finishes and textures to add visual interest to the space and work with the natural light. This amazing kitchen was a total transformation from the original. Windows were removed and added, walls moved back and a total remodel. The original plain ceiling was changed to a coffered ceiling, the lighting all totally re-arranged, new floors, trim work as well as the new layout. I designed the kitchen with a horizontal wood grain using a custom door panel design, this is used also in the detailing of the front apron of the soapstone sink. The profile is also picked up on the profile edge of the marble island. The floor is a combination of a high shine/flat porcelain. The high shine is run around the perimeter and around the island. The Boos chopping board at the working end of the island is set into the marble, sitting on top of a bowed base cabinet. At the other end of the island i pulled in the curve to allow for the glass table to sit over it, the grain on the island follows the flat panel doors. All the upper doors have Blum Aventos lift systems and the chefs pantry has ample storage. Also for storage i used 2 aluminium appliance garages. The glass tile backsplash is a combination of a pencil used vertical and square tiles. Over in the breakfast area we chose a concrete top table with supports that mirror the custom designed open bookcase. The project is spectacular and the clients are very happy with the end results.

This stylish kitchen and walk-in pantry sit within a beautiful Federation home built in 1912 in Melbourne's leafy east. The homeowner's had a great vision for this space and some structural work, removing walls and moving doorways, was required to modernised the home's footprint to suit today's living. This kitchen while very contemporary sits in harmony with the period features of the home such as the ornate cornices, archways and brickwork. We love the striking monochromatic colour scheme of black and white and the touches of glamour that elevate this space like the Qasair rangehoods, Sub-Zero Wolf appliances and the beautiful marble benchtops. The cooking area in this Asian inspired kitchen features an elegant curved glass hood and a brilliant glass tile backsplash. You can see part of the cabinets in this photo, which feature carbonized bamboo embedded into the glass of the cabinet. This clever design adds a hint of brilliance in this gorgeous kitchen remodel. Located in one of the most prestigious roads in St Albans, the clients engaged with us to create a new open plan kitchen, dining and living space. We created the 3D visualisation adding on a glass box extension. The result is a beautiful contemporary space which seamlessly moves into the garden. This is now the hub of their family life and a space which they love.

The design of this remodel of a small two-level residence in Noe Valley reflects the owner's passion for Japanese architecture. Having decided to completely gut the interior partitions, we devised a better-arranged floor plan with traditional Japanese features, including a sunken floor pit for dining and a vocabulary of natural wood trim and casework. Vertical grain Douglas Fir takes the place of Hinoki wood traditionally used in Japan. Natural wood flooring, soft green granite and green glass backsplashes in the kitchen further develop the desired Zen aesthetic. A wall to wall window above the sunken bath/shower creates a connection to the outdoors. Privacy is provided through the use of switchable glass, which goes from opaque to clear with a flick of a switch. We used in-floor heating to eliminate the noise associated with forced-air systems.

Centrally located in the home, the kitchen has easy access to the alfresco dining space and with a flick of a switch the glass between the dining room and garage can be obscured.
