Split Level 1970 home of a young and active family of four. The main public spaces in this home were remodeled to create a fresh, clean look. The Jack + Mare demo'd the kitchen and dining room down to studs and removed the wall between the kitchen/dining and living room to create an open concept space with a clean and fresh new kitchen and dining with ample storage. Now the family can all be together and enjoy one another's company even if mom or dad is busy in the kitchen prepping the next meal. The custom white cabinets and the blue accent island (and walls) really give a nice clean and fun feel to the space. The island has a gorgeous local solid slab of wood on top. A local artisan salvaged and milled up the big leaf maple for this project. In fact, the tree was from the University of Portland's campus located right where the client once rode the bus to school when she was a child. So it's an extra special custom piece! (fun fact: there is a bullet lodged in the wood that is visible...we estimate it was shot into the tree 30-35 years ago!) The 'public' spaces were given a brand new waterproof luxury vinyl wide plank tile. This LeClaire Iowa couple loved their views of the Mississippi River so much that they couldn’t leave them to build elsewhere. Instead, they worked with Wood Builders of the Quad Cities to rebuild a new home in the same location. The kitchen features Wynnbrooke Full Access Cabinetry in the Denali door painted white with a Pewter island. Black Stainless Steel KitchenAid appliances, Q Quartz Calacatta Laza countertops and our best-selling COREtec luxury vinyl plank flooring are also featured.

A compact but convenient eat-in kitchen in this London townhouse. I love the ball-shaped kitchen pendant over the wooden dining table, adding a fun industrial edge, and the pull-out tap adds to that industrial touch. The built-in ovens are from Smeg, and I find them classically beautiful. We painted the units in a creamy-off white colour to keep it feeling warm, and tying in with the brass hardware of the knobs and drawer handles. The dark oak chairs compliment the flooring, and we matched the fabric of the roman blind to the chair seat cushions.

This family home belongs to a wonderful family with 2 children and a dog. The original kitchen was very angular and separate from the dining and living spaces while open to an area that was used as a kids play space. By taking away the angles and opening up the kitchen to the dining area we created an open-plan kitchen dining living area with easy access to the exterior. We used Arctic White Gloss Melamine for the under bench and tall cupboards and Supreme Oak Puregrain Melamine for the overhead cupboards. The Oak adds warmth and appeal The White Ice Engineered Stone was used on the Benchtop as well as Splashback. It is crisp without being pure white and adds subtle interest. The layout allows for a zone for coffee making, cooking and preparation as well as cleaning. This was of great importance to the clients, as when family are visiting they all cook together.
