Adding a tile that has a pattern brings so much life to this kitchen. An amazing wood island top is a great mix of textures and style to this eclectic kitchen. Keeping the barstools low but functional keeps the big features of the kitchen at the forefront.

Inspiration came from hand paint French tiles from the wife's mother. Dress Blues by Sherwin Willaims was chosen for the island and the window trim as the focal point of the kitchen. The home owner had collected many antique copper pieces, so copper finishes were incorporated from the lighting, to the hood panels to the rub-through on the bronze cabinet hardware. This property is located in the beautiful California redwoods and yet just a few miles from the beach. We wanted to create a beachy feel for this kitchen, but also a natural woodsy vibe. Mixing materials did the trick. Walnut lower cabinets were balanced with pale blue/gray uppers. The glass and stone backsplash creates movement and fun. The counters are the show stopper in a quartzite with a "wave" design throughout in all of the colors with a bit of sparkle. We love the faux slate floor in varying sized tiles, which is very "sand and beach" friendly. We went with black stainless appliances and matte black cabinet hardware. The entry to the house is in this kitchen and opens to a closet. We replaced the old bifold doors with beautiful solid wood bypass barn doors. Inside one half became a cute coat closet and the other side storage. The old design had the cabinets not reaching the ceiling and the space chopped in half by a peninsula. We opened the room up and took the cabinets to the ceiling. Integrating floating shelves in two parts of the room and glass upper keeps the space from feeling closed in. The round table breaks up the rectangular shape of the room allowing more flow. The whicker chairs and drift wood table top add to the beachy vibe. The accessories bring it all together with shades of blues and cream. This kitchen now feels bigger, has excellent storage and function, and matches the style of the home and its owners. The kitchen accommodates a full set of Neff appliances, and an Air Uno vented hob. We also installed this Ceasarstone Quartz worktop, and behind, metro style tiles to the splashback in teal, to add a pop of colour against the white cabinetry. We also exposed the original metal beams which became a feature of this apartment.

This mid century kitchen features light tones of blue that compliment the walnut and brass accents. Floating shelves offer a little space for decor and some accent books for cooking.

Mike Roesch from @VonTobelValpo helped design this modern farmhouse kitchen featuring Kemper Echo cabinets with Marimac doors in white & black finish, counters made of Urban Lava in a concrete finish & an island counter by MSI Quartz in Carstin Brands Bella Calacatta. The primary color scheme of this room uses various shades of blue, to help pop-in coastal undertones. We mixed patterns and straight lines with organic elements to create soft edges.

A reverse accent on the backsplash. The blue Lisboa patchwork hex tile highlights the backsplash. By spacing it out with solid white as an accent, it creates a visual resting spot from the intricate pattern.

We opened this kitchen to a family room which we remodeled, gave the clients a new mudroom, sunroom, new screened room and kitchenette to be used when poolside. The style is a casual yet traditional kitchen featuring white cabinets, quartz counters and a designer glass backsplash. The use of weathered natural materials and blue/grey island creates a softness and yields a more livable space which can be hard to achieve with the use of white cabinetry alone. Their professional appliances and built-in appliance garage make this kitchen extremely functional for even the best of cooks. Finishing touches such as the fireclay farmhouse sink, the hand-hammered bar sink and a touch of crystal in the sconces provide just the right amount of sparkle.

The brief focussed on creating a large living space to the rear of the property, freeing up floor area at the front to add an additional bedroom, WC, and utility. Set within a five-storey terraced property the extensive reconfiguration and extension at lower ground floor presented a number of technical and strategic issues. Through a series of substantial structural interventions, we were able to create a large open plan kitchen/living/dining with direct access to the garden. In order to minimise the impact on neighbours outside whilst maximising a sense of space and volume inside, a deep pitched roof extension with large skylights was added.
