This stunning project in Cultra, County Down marries both form and function in one beautiful open plan space. Although it may look minimalist, this is a family home that has all the usual paraphernalia which is cleverly hidden with practical storage solutions. The project, in collaboration with J'Adore Decor uses beautiful cross-grained wedge doors, hardwood flooring and luxurious Silestone work surfaces.

A 1961 home with an under-eight-foot living room ceiling needed some freshening. We slanted the ceiling to match the roof pitch, and added a wall of bookshelves in the dining room. We gutted the kitchen and started over—complete with heated porcelain tile floor. A tiny bathroom had previously included a shower, which we replaced with a full-size vanity that features a striking vessel sink. Relighting the living room required new wiring. Our project manager suggested carrying the existing theme of arched door openings into several of the remodeling details.

This kitchen features the Audus Bespoke handleless micro shaker range, which exudes sophistication and sets the tone for a seamless cooking experience. The choice of light finishes ensures a clean look throughout the space. As you step into the room, your gaze is immediately drawn to the luxurious centre island made of curve-slatted panels, which break up the linear design and add a dynamic visual element. Topped with 20mm Calacatta Quartz worktops supplied by Algarve Granite, this island is a functional and stunning art piece that acts as the kitchen's focal point. The carefully selected appliances from Siemens and Bora seamlessly blend into the aesthetic while offering top-of-the-line performance. The Blanco sink and Quooker tap add to the kitchen's efficiency. Every piece enhances both form and function. To meet the client's specifications, a hidden pantry is added for optimal storage and effortless organisation. This pantry discretely conceals essentials, maintaining the clean lines of the space. An underground wine cellar concealed in a glass floor panel adds a unique touch while showcasing the client's collection of wine in an elegant fashion. Light colours dominate the open-plan space, creating an atmosphere of airiness and cleanliness. Meanwhile, accent pendant lights are strategically placed, casting a warm glow to illuminate the workspaces while elevating the overall look and feel of the kitchen. The shaker-style aesthetic seamlessly meets modern contemporary, resulting in a beautiful and practical space. City apartment interior design job... another beautiful piece of work. With detailed plans, mood board, and inventive solutions. Rossi & More took the project from concept to completion, and you can see how close to the 3D concept CAD drawings the end result is. The brief was to make the most of the open plan living/kitchen/dining area in this compact one bedroom apartment, designed for a single person who loves to have friends over. Key requests from the client: Storage space in a small kitchen Breakfast bar Neutral colours and greys Hide boiler and other utilities Incorporate a laundry drying area Here’s how it transformed: Two different tones of grey from the MDF to the granite countertop/splashback were used throughout the entire open area. The wooden finish provides a warm feeling to the room. In the kitchen, the client wanted a breakfast area and plenty of storage. A door was requested to separate the kitchen and laundry area with a space to dry clothes and accommodate the boiler. This would have blocked the window, which is the only source of natural light for the small kitchen. Instead of a door, @rossi.and.more recommended efficient joinery to hide all the equipment/racks that are needed daily. It also increases the countertop area and provides a second sink. Built-in steel shelves just above the sink area maximize the space and hide the dishes. Washing machine, foldable ironing board, clothes rack, space for utensils, etc. all have their place. To hide the boiler, a white slatted panel door was designed. It can be opened for inspection when needed and doesn’t compromise the required ventilation.

This is a mixture of two styles, at the client's request. The furniture has a Shaker door, with an Edwardian Chamfered frame (and the doors and drawer-fronts set back into the frame accordingly) Painted in Farrow and Ball grey & white 2 tones porcelain tile floor. The worktops are Quartz `White Water`, features to note are the two-tone colours – the Shaker style chimney mantle accommodating large Induction range cooker, circular solid oak breakfast bar on the island, double Belfast sink with Perrin & Rowe Tap and Quooker boiling tap. Note the perfect location of big wide pan drawers either side of range cooker, Bi-Fold Dresser appliance garage in corner hiding the toaster/blender/mixer etc.. Sheerin Cup handles in chrome, drop down a level TV on oak top matching the breakfast bar, socket position on end of island for phone/laptop, feature front of island with oak-fronted spice drawers and wine rack underneath.
