This classical library is a mix of historic architectural features and refreshing contemporary finishes. the brick fireplace is original to the 1907 construction while the majority of the millwork was added during the renovation.

Buxton Photography The homeowners recently married and adopted three young sisters from South Georgia. They kept all three sisters together so they could grow up as a family. The need for more space was obvious. They desperately needed more room for the new family so they contracted with Neighbors Home to construct a two story addition, which included a huge updated kitchen, a sitting room with a see through fireplace, a playroom for the girls, another bedroom and a workshop for dad. We took out the back wall of the house, installed engineered beams and converted the old kitchen into the dining room. The project also included an amazing covered porch and grill deck. We replaced all of the windows on the house with Pella Windows and updated all of the siding to James Hardie siding.

The den was already cozy and inviting. But we spruced it up by installing red oak floor, adding wainscoting and painting the fireplace surround and mantle white to help the fireplace pop. We tore down the walls between four rooms to create this great room in Villanova, PA. And what a difference it makes! This bright space is perfect for everyday living and entertaining family and friends as the kitchen, eating and living areas flow seamlessly. With red oak flooring throughout, we used white and light gray materials and crown moulding to give this large space a cohesive yet open feel. We added wainscoting to the steel post columns. Other projects in this house included installing red oak flooring throughout the first floor, refinishing the main staircase, building new stairs into the basement, installing new basement flooring and opening the basement rooms to create another entertainment area. Our client wanted a welcoming family space combining new updates with old memories. The two framed art pieces illustrate how both can live side-by-side. On the left is an old sepia family photo, while the piece on the right is a new abstract art piece. We used similar wood frames to relate the dissimilar art . Also, the new modern bookshelves co-exist very well with the British Colonial tall rattan chair in front of them. A jute area rug, large leather ottoman, and rattan furniture are part of the comfortable mix. the

The family room is filled with comfortable furniture facing the built-in bookshelves around the fireplace with brick surround. Interior design by Markham Roberts.

Walls in Benjamin Moore’s Spanish White allow the vibrant rug and upholstery to take center stage in the living room. The rug informed the color palette of teal, aqua, sage green and brick red used throughout the house. The fireplace surround was refreshed and given an exciting artsy vibe with the application of Ann Sacks tile.
