This living area was transformed into a show-stopping piano room, for a modern-minded family. The sleek lacquer black of the piano is a perfect contrast to the bright turquoise, chartreuse and white of the artwork, fabrics, lighting and area rug.

The den/lounge provides a perfect place for the evening wind-down. Anchored by a black sectional sofa, the room features a mix of modern elements like the Verner Panton throw and the Eames coffee table, and global elements like the romantic wall-covering of gondolas floating in a sea of lanterns. This family loves classic mid century design. We listened, and brought balance. Throughout the design, we conversed about a solution to the existing fireplace. Over time, we realized there was no solution needed. It is perfect as it is. It is quirky and fun, just like the owners. It is a conversation piece. We added rich color and texture in an adjoining room to balance the strength of the stone hearth . Purples, blues and greens find their way throughout the home adding cheer and whimsy. Beautifully sourced artwork compliments from the high end to the hand made. Every room has a special touch to reflect the family’s love of art, color and comfort.

Dane Austin’s Boston interior design studio gave this 1889 Arts and Crafts home a lively, exciting look with bright colors, metal accents, and disparate prints and patterns that create stunning contrast. M. P. m’a contactée afin d’avoir des idées de réaménagement de son espace, lors d’une visite conseil. Et chemin faisant, le projet a évolué: il a alors souhaité me confier la restructuration totale de son espace, pour une rénovation en profondeur. Le souhait: habiter confortablement, créer une vraie chambre, une salle d’eau chic digne d’un hôtel, une cuisine pratique et agréable, et des meubles adaptés sans surcharger. Le tout dans une ambiance fleurie, colorée, qui lui ressemble! L’étude a donc démarré en réorganisant l’espace: la salle de bain s’est largement agrandie, une vraie chambre séparée de la pièce principale, avec un lit confort +++, et (magie de l’architecture intérieure!) l’espace principal n’a pas été réduit pour autant, il est même beaucoup plus spacieux et confortable! Tout ceci avec un dressing conséquent, et une belle entrée! Durant le chantier, nous nous sommes rendus compte que l’isolation du mur extérieur était inefficace, la laine de verre était complètement affaissée suite à un dégat des eaux. Tout a été refait, du sol au plafond, l’appartement en plus d’être tout beau, offre un vrai confort thermique à son propriétaire. J’ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à travailler sur ce projet, j’espère que vous en aurez tout autant à le découvrir!

Our St. Pete studio gave this beautiful home a colorful, cheerful vibe by adding bold colors and patterns. In the dining room, a lovely shade of teal creates the perfect backdrop for a triptych style tortoise artwork. The kitchen is bright and airy, and the beautiful bar chairs in pretty blue patterns add a hint of style.
