This entrance has a beautiful walnut front door, the rustic beams were passed down through the family since 1900. To create a fun juxtaposition, the abstract art adds color in this otherwise room full of wood stains.

Our client was having trouble finding an aesthetic flow for this home, as she had both traditional, cultural, and contemporary pieces. We were hired to bring the whole space together, incorporating new furnishings with her existing ones - a fun but also delicate task, as the client had a bad experience with a previous designer. Because the home itself is so beautiful, we worked on creating a cohesive design and flow through incorporating custom textiles. By reupholstering furniture and finding the perfect throw pillows, we were able to keep new pieces at a minimal (only adding a few newly bought furnishings here and there), showcase her extensive art collection, and make her current furnishings stand out for their traditional beauty while keeping them updated and current with the newer pieces. Project designed by Atlanta interior design firm, VRA Interiors. They serve the entire Atlanta metropolitan area including Buckhead, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Cobb County, and North Fulton County. Modern farmhouse describes this open concept, light and airy ranch home with modern and rustic touches. Precisely positioned on a large lot the owners enjoy gorgeous sunrises from the back left corner of the property with no direct sunlight entering the 14’x7’ window in the front of the home. After living in a dark home for many years, large windows were definitely on their wish list. Three generous sliding glass doors encompass the kitchen, living and great room overlooking the adjacent horse farm and backyard pond. A rustic hickory mantle from an old Ohio barn graces the fireplace with grey stone and a limestone hearth. Rustic brick with scraped mortar adds an unpolished feel to a beautiful built-in buffet.
