Here we have a beautiful, individually designed and handmade kitchen that has recently been installed into a country residence. The client was looking for an Asian inspired design having traveled extensively in India. We made a shaker style kitchen with a fusion of British & Indian influenced shapes and moldings that were created especially for this client.

The owners of this older Victorian style home in Denver wanted a fresh updated eclectic look in their kitchen that reflected who they were. We think you'll fall in love with this crisp white and stainless steel kitchen with shaker style cabinets, patterned hardwood floors, white subway tile backsplash, marble countertops and exposed brick walls in the adjoining dining area.

Während die Küche in hellen Farbtönen gehalten ist, bestimmen warme Erdtöne das Wohnzimmer. Im Schlafzimmer dominieren gemütliche Blautöne. Nach einem Umzug beauftragte ein Kunde THE INNER HOUSE erneut mit der Gestaltung seiner Wohnräume. So entstand auf 80 Quadratmetern im Prenzlauer Berg eine harmonische Mischung aus Alt und Neu, Gewohntem und Ungewohntem. Das bereits vorhandene, stilvolle Mobiliar wurde dabei um einige ausgewählte Stücke ergänzt. This family of four wanted to open up their compartmentalized floor plan to create a kitchen that would become the center of their entertaining areas. Aesthetically they wanted to incorporate some fun elements into the design with pops of color and unique lighting and flooring selections. Although they wanted to encourage flow between their kitchen, family and dining rooms, they wanted to maintain the formality of the dining room. A structural wall between the kitchen and living areas required some creative thinking. We were able to eliminate the wall by aligning the structural posts with the posts in the basement. To open up the kitchen space and provide outdoor access, the main staircase was moved to a more central location. Hydronic in-floor heating and a ductless air-conditioning unit provide energy efficient temperature control. The new layout of the kitchen allows the cook to socialize and interact with family and guests in the family and dining rooms. A desk area was created to separate the dining area, but does not block traffic flow or sight lines. The large island offers plenty of prep space and seats four comfortably. A new eight-foot patio door integrates the outdoor space and doesn’t interfere with the functionality of the kitchen. The red tile backsplash adds a punch of color that pairs perfectly with the gray cabinets and white quartz countertop. The honeycomb tile pattern is fun and adds unexpected personality to the whole space.

The maximizing of storage requires thinking outside the box--literally. If you stick with standard 24"-deep cabinets, you lose storage. This kitchen has 30"-deep counters which means the drawers extend 27"! The drawers under the side-by-side cooktops extend 30".Even the drawers in the toe kick extend 3" farther than the main drawers of a standard kitchen. Note that the middle drawer has the tallest face--you do not have to bend down as far to lift the heavier items that typically end up in the deepest drawer. The top drawers in this kitchen are 7-1/2" tall. Many more items will fit into them, as a result. I made the bench seat out of cut down above-refrigerator cabinets. The table is a combination of 2 craigslist tables, and some resizing of the base. I'm working on a new top for it.
