A Modern Contemporary Home in the Boise Foothills. Anchored to the hillside with a strong datum line. This home sites on the axis of the winter solstice and also features a bisection of the site by the alignment of Capitol Boulevard through a keyhole sculpture across the drive.

As a cottage, the Ridgecrest was designed to take full advantage of a property rich in natural beauty. Each of the main houses three bedrooms, and all of the entertaining spaces, have large rear facing windows with thick craftsman style casing. A glance at the front motor court reveals a guesthouse above a three-stall garage. Complete with separate entrance, the guesthouse features its own bathroom, kitchen, laundry, living room and bedroom. The columned entry porch of the main house is centered on the floor plan, but is tucked under the left side of the homes large transverse gable. Centered under this gable is a grand staircase connecting the foyer to the lower level corridor. Directly to the rear of the foyer is the living room. With tall windows and a vaulted ceiling. The living rooms stone fireplace has flanking cabinets that anchor an axis that runs through the living and dinning room, ending at the side patio. A large island anchors the open concept kitchen and dining space. On the opposite side of the main level is a private master suite, complete with spacious dressing room and double vanity master bathroom. Buffering the living room from the master bedroom, with a large built-in feature wall, is a private study. Downstairs, rooms are organized off of a linear corridor with one end being terminated by a shared bathroom for the two lower bedrooms and large entertainment spaces. The unsual setting of the property on a hill in Kingston, along with tricky planning considerations, meant that we had to achieve a space split into different floor levels and with an irregular shape. This allowed us to create diverse spaces inside and out maximizing the natural light ingress on the east and south whilst optimizing the connection between internal and external areas. Vaulted ceilings, crisp finishes, minimalistic lines, modern windows and doors, and a sharp composite cladding resulted in an elegant, airy, and well-lighted dream home.

Lower angle view highlighting the pitch of this Western Red Cedar perfection shingle roof we recently installed on this expansive and intricate New Canaan, CT residence. This installation involved numerous dormers, valleys and protrusions, and over 8,000 square feet of copper chromated arsenate-treated cedar.

Образ и архитектура павильона взяты из его природного окружения. Тонкий стальной каркас здания, раскосы стропильных конструкций, колотый природный камень на стенах фасада, детали медной кровли перекликаются с рисунками крон деревьев и стволов соснового леса. Полукруглые завершения крыш и мансардных окон привносят в образ здания романтизм и уют. Жилые пространства павильона имеют ярко выраженные вертикальные пропорции. Пространство тянется вверх как деревья к свету. Стены гостиной по периметру имеют ленточное остекление и растворяют пространство гостиной в природе. Гостиная наполнена теплым светом от медных светильников. Общая площадь 170 м2.

This Woodland Style home is a beautiful combination of rustic charm and modern flare. The Three bedroom, 3 and 1/2 bath home provides an abundance of natural light in every room. The home design offers a central courtyard adjoining the main living space with the primary bedroom. The master bath with its tiled shower and walk in closet provide the homeowner with much needed space without compromising the beautiful style of the overall home.

Close up of the standing seam metal portion of this Madison, CT New Construction project. We installed 6,000 square feet of GAF Camelot Architectural Asphalt shingles to take on the look of a classic slate roof. We also installed approximately 1,000 sf of Englert Matt Black standing seam metal roofing over the entryway and rear porch. All flashing is lead-coated copper.

The residence is located on a main street in a small, artsy town with a mixture of old homes and lake cottages. Client request and direction was to craft a clean, simple, modern, home. Provide a house with clean forms that recall back to the local historic home designs. Finishes throughout were kept minimal and clean in keeping true to a purest design with blank walls to display artwork and sculpture.
