A recently moved couple decided to renovate their new home starting with their master bathroom. This couple were very intrigued with bold colors and extraordinary fixtures. It started with choosing a bold steel free standing tub colored with black on the outside and white lon the inside. This color scheme carried over into the mosaic tiles into the shower running down vertically to accentuate a black marble top and gold mirror trim, opposite the shower area. Prior walls were taken down and a new angled wall was made to house new round custom-made double vanity cabinets. A new commode room was built behind new shower space along with double shower panel and rain shower over river rock stone floors, and porcelain floor with heated floor underneath. A tray ceiling in the middle of bathroom trimmed with gold crown and painted in black accent helps set apart bathroom project.

This luxurious bathroom comes complete with a custom vanity, ample drawer storage including cabinets on top of the countertop enhanced with frosted glass doors. The bathroom floor is a field of porcelain damask and diamond-shaped tiles with a border that follows the perimeter of the room including the shape of the cabinetry. Faucets for the vanity are chrome and they are offset from center for a nice symmetrical look. Delicate chrome sconces flank a 48" round mirror that makes the room feel spacious. A gray glass subway tile backsplash is continued around the entire perimeter of the shower. The shower floor is a zero-entry shower which means that it is at the same level as the bathroom floor. Damask shapes continue in the shower. They grace the back wall as a waterfall feature that highlights the rain shower head. The handle to turn on the shower is installed on the adjacent wall so the homeowners can turn on the water without getting that first cold burst. An elegant chrome chandelier is hung at the center of the vanity and extends down from the wood molding feature on the ceiling. Inside a damask-shaped pattern is stenciled for a very dramatic effect. Glass knobs were used for the vanity hardware and a glass knob follows suit on the frosted glass entry door.

Glamorous Spa Bath. Dual vanities give both clients their own space with lots of storage. One vanity attaches to the tub with some open display and a little lift up door the tub deck extends into which is a great place to tuck away all the tub supplies and toiletries. On the other side of the tub is a recessed linen cabinet that hides a tv inside on a hinged arm so that when the client soaks for therapy in the tub they can enjoy watching tv. On the other side of the bathroom is the shower and toilet room. The shower is large with a corner seat and hand shower and a soap niche. Little touches like a slab cap on the top of the curb, seat and inside the niche look great but will also help with cleaning by eliminating the grout joints. Extra storage over the toilet is very convenient. But the favorite items of the client are all the sparkles including the beveled mirror pieces at the vanity cabinets, the mother of pearl large chandelier and sconces, the bits of glass and mirror in the countertops and a few crystal knobs and polished nickel touches. 浴室リフォームのデザイン、レイアウト、費用

浴室リフォームの技法には大きく分けて「在来工法」と「ユニットバス (システムバス)」の2通りがあります。

在来工法：「在来工法」とは、壁、床、窓枠、浴槽などを実際の現場で左官、大工、タイル職人等が作り上げていく技法で、浴室の大きさや形に合わせて自由にレイアウトをデザインできたり、趣のあるタイルで壁を演出することができたりといった点が利点と言えます。昔ながらのこの技法には、費用が高い、工期が長い、年数が経つと水漏れの心配がある、などの注意点があります。
ユニットバス（システムバス）：比較的新しいこの技法は、予め工場で生産されたパーツ (壁、バスタブ、シャワーユニットなど) を現場で組み立てていく技法で、防水性、断熱性に優れ、工期を短縮できるだけでなく、費用も大幅に抑えることができます。在来工法と比べると、デザインやレイアウトの自由度が低い点が欠点としてあげられます。

浴室にプラスアルファでお風呂タイムをもっと楽しく

介護が必要な方には、浴室に浴槽手すりやシャワーチェア、すべり止めマットなどの安全グッズを使って、癒やしの時間を安全にゆっくりと楽しんでもらいましょう。浴室に床暖房を取り入れると、冬場のあのヒンヤリ感がなくなり、ヒートショックの防止に効果が期待できます。大粒のお湯が頭上から降り注ぐように全身を包み込むレインシャワー水栓は、効率的に身体を温めてくれます。また最近では、浴室テレビを装備して、あたたかいお湯に浸かりながらテレビ番組や映画を楽しむ方も増えています。ライフスタイルにあわせて、浴室をカスタマイズしてみてはいかがでしょうか？

ラクラク片付け、快適な浴室！

シャンプーやコンディショナーのボトルや、浴槽洗いのブラシは、ワイヤーラック、つっぱりコーナーラック、吸盤シェルフなど壁面収納グッズを活用して、浴室の使いやすい場所に設置しましょう。ボディスポンジなど、肌に触れるものはお掃除グッズから離れた場所に置き、しっかり水切りができるよう吸盤フックなどにかけるといいでしょう。また、浴室内には必要なアイテムだけをセレクトして置き、余分なモノは浴室外の脱衣所の棚に保管するなどの工夫も、お風呂場を清潔に保つコツです。風呂ふたも、フックやスタンド等を使って収納し、しっかり乾燥させれば、カビやぬめりの発生を防ぐことができます。

ホテルのようなバスルームをつくるコツ

ホテルライクなバスルームに誰しもが憧れたことがあるでしょう。すっきりとした収納、余計なものやプライベート感がない、トイレとバスが一緒の三点ユニットでも清潔感があるのがホテルのバスルームの特徴です。このようなシンプルな印象のバスルームにするコツは、収納をできるかぎり1カ所にまとめるということです。タオルや着替え、トイレットペーパーや洗剤など溢れがち (しかもバスルームに置きがち) な日用品のストックは、必要分だけをコンパクトに整理して、同素材や同系色の収納ボックスやラックにまとめることで、全体を統一感ある印象に見せます。ところで、このようなホテルライクなバスルームはアメリカのバスルームが元になっていますが、アメリカの Houzz サイトの特集記事 (Story) には、“Bathroom 1 1/2” や “Bathroom 3/4” などと表記されているものがあります。これは、バスルームを「バスタブ」、「シャワー」、「トイレ」、「洗面台」の4つ分けて、それぞれ 1/4 と考え、4つすべてある場合は ”Bathroom 1”、それに加えてトイレと洗面台がもう1カ所ずつある場合は “Bathroom 1 1/2”、シャワー、トイレ、洗面台だけでバスタブがない場合は “Bathroom 3/4” のように表現されます。
